My Bottom Line :
Deep raisins, toasted pumpernickel bread and straight rye evolve into fieldberry jam and light roast.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy sheet of foam tops the prune-edged darkness.
-Malt aromas and flavor are riveting.
-There are a few licorice-like undercurrents.
-Body is plump.
-Its finish is a bit too storyless for me. Underhopped, perhaps?

Bottle.

500ml bottle. ½ Pint glass. Enjoyed on jul´12. Very dark amber color, deep ruby to the light. Beige, close, small bubbled, crown. Fairly good retention. Aroma profile is great: roasted malts, intense herbal & spiced touch, burnt coffee, burnt bread, hints of licorice…Smooth sweet malty upfront rounded by coffee, cocoa & bready hues. Bitterness in the middle. Oily texture. Complex & velvet palate. Medium to full body, moderate to soft carbonation. Coffee long finish. ABV well masked resolves into a refreshing & drinkable experience.

50 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 22.12.2010
Aroma has some smoke and roasted coffee. Flavout is roasted with sweetish malt, some woody notes, smoke, ash and hints of licorice. Interesting and somewhat unique.

Draft at Eulogy. Poured a dark chewy brown with some tan foam. Complex malty flavors. Sticky on the tongue but not too sweet. Some smoke and sour in the mix. Nothing overpowers. Nice and complicated though not many fruit notes. Lingering flavor. Very nice.
