33 cl. bottle. Deep brown, low beige head. Aroma of discreet oak and soft chocolate. Mild oak also in taste, along with moderately burned coffee beans and chocolate. Good balance. Bitter chocolate and spices in the direction of pepper in the end. A delicious harmonic beer that does not challenge but contributes to peace and harmony. Candidate for Nobel's beer award? :-) tderoeck (10889) - Gent, BELGIUM - FEB 7, 2018

Clear brown to red amber beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: spicy, dried fruits, floral, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: nice roast, lots of chocolate, bit spicy, herbal. Aftertaste: nice roast, coffee, bitter, spicy, herbal, more roast.
Mørk med lavt skum. Aroma av mild røyk og noe kaffe. Smaker bål, tjære og kaffe. Kunne vært noe rundere i smaken. tfredvik (2095) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 24, 2018

Close to black body with a small, beige, long-lived head that ends up as a fully covering film and some build-up at the walls. Quite strong aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee, cask wood, wood smoke, ash, and peat, and in the back there are som dark dried fruits. Strong flavour that follows the aroma, with some additional yeasty notes and leather. Moderate sweet taste with a moderate bitter, long-lasting and light dry finish. Close to full body, smooth texture, and soft carbonation. It's been a few years since I tried the regular Bestefar, so I don't know how the two compare, but this one is in either case a very nice winter warmer.

Mørkbrunt med fint skum. Kaffe, korn, lett røyk og eik i aromaen. Kjenner alkoholpreget godt.

Sampled at Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2017 - day 1. Dark pour with a tan head. Notes of aquavit, caramel and not much else. Rune (14045) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 28, 2017
330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Attractive in the glass with an one-finger thick, bubbly, fawn coloured head with fine retention leaving crocheted behind. Coal black in the glass. Smell of chocolate malts with nuts and wood. Nicely roasted chocolate malty flavours sustained by anise and caramel. Solid mid-sweet, roasted malty end, smoothly warming. Enjoyed late on a Yuletide eve. (Tromsø 27.12.2017). Meilby (11826) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 15, 2017

Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, wood, caramel, spices and licorice. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, woody, chocolate, spiced and licorice finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Sampled at Billies craftbeerfest 2017. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Don't mind my visual info to much, as lighting was really terrible. Pours dark brown, small white head. Smell is spicy, boozy. Taste is sharp, spiced, booze ( aquavit ) A bit too perfumy to me. Inbreak (6824) - Loddefjord, NORWAY - DEC 8, 2017
