50cl bottle at Larvik Mikrobryggeri, Larvik. Pours black (dark, dark mahogany) with a modest, being head. Somewhat malty aroma with notes of sour, dark berries, vinegar, wood and dark chocolate. On tap at Ølfestivalen, Nærbø. It’s a lightly unclear brown beer with a small, beige head. The aroma has some roasted malts in the back, with tannins and hints of vinegar and the faintest acetone hint. Far from complex, neither in the aroma nor in the flavor, but nice. The flavor is pretty much the same, but I find it easier on the vinegar. Still, it feels acidic on the palate, it’s medium bodied and nicely carbonated, with a tart, faintly roasted finish. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, sorrel, oak, dark malts, berry skin, mild vinegar, minerals, fruit stones, bark, dark sugar, grass, dark berries. Medium bitternes, slightly dry mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice.
