This beer was brewed in sept. 06 and has since then been aged in oak barrels until bottling on March 22. 2008. The beer is blended for roundness but is still very sour and a little bit acetic. We think our first attempt has been a great success and we will definitely try this again.

50 cL bottle, batch #159, 2008 vintage. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is acetone and dark fruity. Dark fruity flavoured. Acetone, brett and acidic to a solid dark malty and overripe fruity note. Mild acidic and dark malty finish. A bit too acetone driven for my liking.

Ungstrup (37558) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 9, 2009

Bottlled. Deep reddish amber colour with a small off-white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is sour wood with some tart berries and mild sweetish malts. Flavour is quite similar with the tart berries coming through most evident. The higher ABV helps out balancing up some of the sourness and tartness.

omhper (25095) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 3, 2009
Bottled. Cloudy mahogany colour, small head. Acidic vinegar aroma. Tart with emdium body and rounde mouthfeel. Woodyand vinegary with sweaty bold malt. No bitterness. A very direct and appetizing aroma and flavour, but not in possession of too much depth beyond that.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2008
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yngwie. Clear, warm amber golden with a small, rough, off-white head. Very unusual aroma of fruit, solvents and glue. Medium body, lots of sweet fruit and a very distinct sour and woody astringency. Quite thrilling. 230808

Deep reddihs brown cloudy beer. Acidic nose. This beer was aged in sherry barrels and rhubarb wine barrels! Dry crisp palate. Very sour beer! Sour generic fruit leading to a little woody oak, then more strong sourness with a fruity herbal edge. Medicinal and dry wood finish. Highly unusual beer, tasty and refreshing but absoloutely could not drink more than a single bottle.

Travlr (24665) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 24, 2010
Bottle courtesy of Greg at Churchkey (thank you sir!), shared at DC local tasting. Murky brown color, large bubble head that settles quickly. Aroma is sour mustard seed and mustard leaves. Taste has steady sourness throughout, with an edge of wood and caramel. Very nice.
