This is a collaborate brew with Erlann Eldorsen based on his recipe. Kreklingøl is made with crowbrerries, a very special berry that is picked in Finnmark, the part of Norway north of the Polar circle. The beer is very refreshing with a reddish hue from the berries.

Editor’s note: hey, crowberries are common in most of Norway and can even be found at Rejkjær Sande in Denmark.

Fin duft av krækebær. Tynt dekkende skum. fin rød brunlig farge. fin fruktig smak med en ubestemmelig ettersmak.

Everything about this beer and brewery always. Delicious in ever aspect, and gorgeous red carmel pour with a effervescent head. Has a nice carmel body that is slightly bitter and becomes slightly sweet and bubbly. Points for using local and traditional ingredients of course.

Bottled 4/29/12. Boring color and appearance. Smell of malt and faint blackberries. Doesn't really taste like anything initially, warms to reveal a bit of caramel malt and not much else. Meh.

2011 btl. Murky medium red amber colour, off white medium head. Smells..crisp berries, some light kriek like sour berry, some light spice/pepper hints, a little malt too. Tastes.. A great balance between spice and fruit. I’ve never had crowberries, but the berry taste is fresh/crisp adds to a palatte cleansing mouthfeel. Quite spicey in a peppery sense, some malt too. I’d absolutely buy another one.

2011 edition bottle, shared may 17th 2013. Deep red body, tanned head. Aroma of tart berries, sweet malt, leather. Taste of berries, toffee, light citric, not sour. Good carbonation, lasting berry and caramel aftertaste.

I never had crowberries as far as I know, and was pleasantly surprised by its unique and spicy! taste. Slightly dark with a lasting head. Good drinkability. Balanced.

Bottle, at Haandverkerstuene. Aroma; Red fruits, sour notes, game and some reduced red wine. The taste is nice and fruity, you can feel the crowberries. The aftertaste is the most interesting because I get very clear game associations, specifically it reminds me of the smell of reindeer furs, combined with quite bitter and earthy crowberries. Alright beer though.

bottle shared with mathieuc! (appreciable gusher) pours milky copper, red hue, with a decent off-white, pinkish head, some retention. fresh wild dark berries, very spicy and peppery yeastiness, light acidity - wheat feeling, hint of sweetness, woodsy notes, dusty fruitiness. average carbonation, light body - almost oily, short grassy-herbal-spicy finish. nice offering (but please correct bottle conditioning)!

Bottle shared by czar, thanks! Pours a murky red with a big white head (after it gushed and we lost close to a third of the bottle). Aroma is of red fruits, acid and a little spicy. Taste is a bit sour with not much hops felt. Flavors are once again of fruits, the wild kind, and some black pepper. There is a moderate amount of acidity that makes it really drinkable too. Another good one from Haandbrygerriet!

Appearance: Cloudy deep dark amber color with a small bubbly head that soon vanish.
Aroma: Light acidic and mild berry fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild sweet and a bit acidic fruity.
Overall impression: Enjoyable together with some food.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with OleR.
