Beer5000 (6825) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 11, 2012
500 ml bottle @ RBNAG11 – Haandbryggeriet. Slightly hazy, deep reddish/orange body with a small, dense off-white head. Aroma of sour berries. Flavor has berries, fruit, light malt and balanced acidity. Medium body. A tasty and fruity beer with a pleasant acidic balance. Refreshing.

Bottle @ home. Krøkkebic has a pinkish purple appearance with a small white head that is gone in no time and smells of tart cranberries and raspberries, oak, and light funk. Tart albeit in dull cran-raspberry flavor with light funk, light barnyard, a bit of cheese, and moderate water. Pretty light aftertaste. The flavor is a bit watery and the fruit flavor is a little bland, not all that interesting, and not very complex.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear medium to dark amber red colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, berry, sweet berries, crowberries, wood, oak. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, herbs - urth - heather, wood, aok, berry - crowberries. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Pours reddish copper with a small soapy off-white ring for a head. The aroma has berries, light tartness, musty basement, lavender, mild funk and a hint of pepper. Medium crisp body that gets a bit fuller with mild prickly carbonation. The flavor starts with tart berries that are cranberry-esque, pepper, light vinegar, cherries and some bugginess. the finish is more vinegary with the sourness and there is a very sharp berry and spice flavort. Decent sour ale.

Decent sour fruit/berry in aroma offset by an almost paint quality. The flavor is similar to the aroma with the paint taste still there. Honestly a great brewery but this was a miss.

marcus (10873) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours murky reddish copper with a tiny beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a sour cranberry-like flavor with a dry finish. Too watery and quite strange.

beernbourbon (1604) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Bottle. Pour is a clear reddish brown with a small white head. Aroma is tart berries up front with notes of cranberry, wood, faint sweet syrup and a touch of vanilla. Flavor is sweet/ slightly tart berry with a hint of woody dryness, a touch of earthiness, and a touch of vanilla. Not over acidic and quite easy to drink. I liked this.

Bottle shared with Mattyb83, pours a hazy bright amber with a few bubbles for a head. Aroma has a musky sweetness, berries, with a slight sour acidity. Starts with sweet berries turning sour into an artificial smoked particle board flavor, finishing dry. Just not digging this one.

mattyb83 (737) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 30, 2011
Bottle. Pours bright ruby with some orange highlights. There is a small white head present, but it fades to a collar very quick. Pretty acidic aroma with some hints of fruit. Really don’t know what crowberries are but this is reminiscient of cranberries and raspberries. Something is just not sitting right. Acetone? I don’t know... Taste is rubbery, and maybe some other shit, but man this just isn’t good. Very little acidity with the flavor, and it’s just flabby without anything really going on. Bleh!

bhensonb (15974) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 29, 2011
Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Crowberries lack flavor, but are acidic. So.... Pours dark copper with a very transient head. Mildly acidic aroma which has a petroleum hint. Med body minus. This is sour, somewhat earthy. Arguably there’s a berry flavor, but it’s not much of one. Still it is sour/acidic and there’s some fruit aspect. Sore of blueberry skin, if one must provide some sort of identification. Definitely dry and sour.
