500ml Bottle: Sweet aroma of crowberries, fruit, funk, slight acetic acid, slight barnyard, and slight acetic acid. Poured deep orange/red in color with no head. Cloudy. Not sparkling. Full of small, medium, and large-sized particles throughout. Flavor is medium to heavily sweet. Tastes of crowberries, funk, barnyard, leather, slight acetic acid, and more funk. Medium body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Medium to heavily sweet, funk, crowberry, barnyard, leather, slight vanilla finish is slightly dry and slightly sticky. 7%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Bottle, pours a cloudy orange-brown body with quickly disappearing off-white head. Aroma of sour fruit and light vinegar. Taste is not as fruity as the aroma and has an earthy/vegetal quality along with some tartness. Also has an odd, almost chemical taste near the end. Very lightly carbonated that quickly goes flat. Dry, tart finish. Rather drinkable for a sour ale, although not very acidic.

Bottle via El Cerrito, thanks for the nice selection Jazz! Pours a medium brown with little to no head. Aroma is sour but nothing out of the ordinary. Some dark fruit aspects come out but this really doesn’t do much for me. The taste, more of the same. Tobacco with some brown sugar make this a sweeter sour at first but quickly the sour fades as it heats up and makes for something just bland and somewhat off putting. Overall, I have no idea what a crowberry is but it certainly doesn’t make this one any better.

Thanks to bmanning for sharing this brew. Served in a wine glass. Pours a reddish-brown color with a good off-white head and a thin collar throughout. The nose carries some nice berry character and miscellaneous fruit. Strong acidity and a nice light body. Smooth, dry finish with a fairly-strong acidity. Good berry character throughout. An interesting and enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Pours to a red body with a thin white head. Aroma is dusty and rosemary soap-like with a twangy sour note. I wouldn’t really say fruity, but I suppose there could be a light cranberry aroma. Light aroma leaves me disappointed. The flavor is tangy. Some odd dusty earthen component with a typical sourness up front. Really earthen finish like clay and chalk or something with light evergreens and rosemary. Weird. Credit for introducing me to the crowberry, but nothing special lies in this glass as a beer. Cheers to this beer’s potential to helping cure digestive problems, I suppose. Flat chalky palate. It’s able to hide the alcohol well, but nothing pleasant. Pass on this one, unfortunately.

Bottle; Pour is murky golden amber with a modest beige head in this glass; a light haze, with a medium ring comes through eventually- modest, spotty lacing here as well. The nose is .... lactic.... berries, sure.. but I haven’t had a crowberry before - it would be disingenuous to suggest that’s what I’m pulling from this one - there is an earthy note present as well. The flavor profile ; it begins a little thin, leading to a lactic sour note, light berry fruits, mild funk, finishing with a bit of cheese and earth - nice overall.....

Bottle from West Lakeview in Chicago. Pours cloudy and variegated reddish brown, small off white head. Aroma of cranberry, raspberry, light citrus. Taste is funky berries, summer fruit, citrus. Tasty and unique.

Bottle picked up at SL.... Had to use google to see what the hell a crowberry is.. Basically a blueberry cousin... Any way. Pours a murkey red color with out much head. Smells nice.. Tart, sourness, berries, fruity. Taste is a nice acidy tartness, which borderlines a sour taste. Fruity berries. Taste like sour cherries. Medium body, low carbonation level which makes it a little oily... Overall: Nice sour beer

Bottle. Hazy reddish pour. Berry, vinegar, sweetness, lactic acid, and a little buttery. It’s OK, but really not up to par with many others.

Pours hazy ruby-tinged mahogany into a snifter. Off-white bubbly head recedes to coat surface leaving trailing sheets. Sour earthy summer fruit aromas. Thin with sour berries upfront turning to tart berry skin finish that abruptly ends with a very clean, diminishing finish.
