Bottle at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours light hazy ruby with a light, creamy head. Sweaty nose with some citrusy sugars. Decently tart flavor with plenty of sugar and light, leafy bitterness. Also some grapefruit. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Crisp, tangy finish with plenty of semi-ripe citrus fruits. Good one.

Bottle shared by bmanning. Thanks Ben. The beer appears a hazy dark orange color with a small head that leaves sparse lacing on the glass. The aroma offers some wild yeast, funk, fruit, malt, kiwi. Abundant sourness in the flavor, with some tart citrus and stone fruits. Mild tannins with some citrus and a slightly acetic finish. Light to medium bodied with solid carbonation. Overall, a decent beer and one worth trying. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-08-2012

[email protected] Strawberry aroma, acidic with a hint of oak. Red, tiny off-white head, no lace. Strawberries, rather oaky flavour, cherry pits, funky, hint of paracetamol. Bit thin. Complex yet highly drinkable.

Bottle enjoyed at home
Red with brown tones, thin laced white head. Smells of wild berries, hints of green apple, some malts and also some funky brett. Taste is medium malty with a distinct sour acidity. Some sweetness also apply, but the sourness rules them all. Thin tart dry palate. Not very bitter finish, but i find som bittertones too. An interesting beer from HB, needs maybe some more time in the cellar

Courtesy of gnoff. Pours clear deep copper amber with a small bubbly beuge head. Aroma is sour, acidy, stable, sweet, fruity; very nice. Flavor is sour, lemon juice, fruity, tart and has some sweetness. Finishes tart sour and fruity.

Small light beige head doesn’t last. Slightly hazy amber body with light carbonation. Milky wooden wild berry aroma with vinegary oily fruity notes. Sweetish-acidic wild berry, lingonberry, and wood taste with herbal spicy wooden notes. Light body. Mild mouthfeel initially, then sharpish at the end. Dryish-acidic lingonberry and juniper aftertaste (which is probably really the black crowberry) with wooden metallic funky notes. Nice, but a bit weird and harsh. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

500. Pours a murky pinkish red with a loose head that doesn’t stick around for too long. Pleasant tart berry nose, not at all pushy but definitely inviting. We tried this with a couple of other big sours on the table over the course of the evening and it’s definitely not as explosively aromatic (or flavored) as those big guns, but it has a lot of nice presence to it. Fizzy medium body. I don’t know what a crowberry is, but the mid-palate note is probably halfway between a blackberry and a raspberry. Nice sweetness, tartness, acidity, and enough bite to be refreshing.

500 ml bottle @ RBNAG11 – Haandbryggeriet. Slightly hazy, deep reddish/orange body with a small, dense off-white head. Aroma of sour berries. Flavor has berries, fruit, light malt and balanced acidity. Medium body. A tasty and fruity beer with a pleasant acidic balance. Refreshing.
