3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. Pours a murky chestnut amber, with a tiny and rapidly fading off-white head, which leaves no lacing. Sour funky notes, some sweeter woodiness and an astringent fruit smell make up the aroma. It is quite strongly sour up front, with a sweeter, woody balsamic vinegar flavour coming in to moderate that a little. There is an astringent, slightly bitter fruity flavour, which I assume to be crowberries, coming into the mid-palate. It finishes with a refreshing sourness. I admit that I don’t really know what I’m tasting for here, but the crowberries don’t seem to be a major feature of this beer. That said, it is a pleasant sour ale, and excellent refreshment on an incredibly hot summer evening.

Anything with crowberries on the label is going to catch my attention. Pulling this out on a moderately warm spring evening I was in for a treat. I still have no idea what a crowberry is but if it tastes anything like this I hope some other people give it a try.
Aroma / Appearance - A rich ruby base grows over time to fill the glass to the brim when paired with a frosty white head. Plums, raspberries, tart fruits, and vinegar work the air vigorously without being completely acidic.
Flavor / Palate - Plums, oak, and dark burnt coffee alternate sweet and savory. The full bodied chewy experience works its way to a bitter, sticky, and tart finish. The sourness never overwhelms though it does remain memorable from the first sip to the last drop. Charming and unique I am glad I gave it a shot.
reddish color; almost no head; sour cherry aroma; sour fruit flavor; smooth; very lightly carbonated Buongiorgio00 (934) - - MAR 16, 2015
Birra davvero ottima con un’acidità diffusa ma non pungente, velata dalle note fruttate e persistenti. OKplus (787) - Oklahoma, USA - JUL 26, 2013
A - Pours an orange struck dark reddish hue, hazy with a light head that recedes rather quickly leaving no trace of itself.
S - Fruity and funky! Starfruit, melon, raspberries, blackberry cobbler, acidic aroma, dank musty wood, hints of floral
T - Woody ocean water, salty apple cider, earthy minerals, hints of tart berries and bright and sour citrus, it’s pretty earthy and floral. While the tartness is there, it’s slightly muted. Cooked stone fruit, and salty honeydew. Earthy mineral notes on the aftertaste.
M - Firm medium body, low carbonation, salty with a dry finish.
A very interesting lambic. Lots of salty/stone/mineral/earthy flavors that are mixed with tart fruits and funky yeast. I like the effort but feel it’s slightly too salty without enough tartness. With that being said, it was an enjoyable drink that was fun to explore.

Dark redbrown colour with a small head. Aroma of fruits, raisins and cherry with a slightly sour character. Also some smell of juniper berry. Taste of juniper berry, fruits and some grapes with a distinctive sour and drt characteristics. Interesting and nice. A simple fresh and dry mouthfeel.

Aroma is rather acidic and full of tart fruit including cherries and berries but it also has a strong acetic character to it. A hint of a Brett note but no barnyard to balance the fruity acidity.
Pours a cloudy brown with slight ruby highlights. Very thin head that quickly recedes.
Flavor is a bit better than the aroma, but it does have a stale, old, malt character. The acidity is slightly acetic and the beer is rather fruity with berries and tart cherries. Finish is slightly sweet but with a lingering acidity. Low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation, almost flat; Tomme would be proud. Astringency is low and alcohol warmth medium low.
Overall not an amazing beer. The acidity doesn't seem clean, the malt tastes stale and the beer is flat. It lacks complexity and could use some Brett character to balance the fruit an acidity. One of my least favorite Haand beers.

Asa’s Pre-Flight Tasting Beer #3. Totally random selection by Asa from Five Points Bottle Shop in Athens. Pours Mid-Brown with a tinge of red and no head. Scent is reminiscent of apple cider. Flavor is more vinegar than tart. Bitter finish. Beer is completely flat. Not sure if that is by design. Bottle shared at EricTeusink tasting. Pours a dark amber with zero head. Smell is crisp maltinees, cherries, earthy. Taste is medium tart, hint of plastic, cherries and I berry I guess I will say is a cloudberry, although I have never had such a fruit. Light palate that is begging for some carbonation. deadCATAtlanta (60) - Georgia, USA - JUN 11, 2013
