3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served on tap at Brick Store Pub in Decatur. Dark brown in color, with a slight head that is light tan in color and dissipates quickly. Aroma of chocolate liqueur and alcohol that is sweet and quite pleasant. Flavor of lightly roasted malts, sweet chocolate, and warming alcohol. Smooth, almost velvety mouthfeel, but with some light carbonation. Overall, a very sweet, chocolaty ale.
Bottle. Dark brown color. Aroma: malty, sweet, caramel, slightly halva and nuts, light spiciness. Taste: wine, nuts, a little wood and smoked meat, caramel. alexsdad06 (10652) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2017
500 ml bottle from notes. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have toasted caramel malts, plums, raisins, berries, anise, earthy, smoked malt, peat, light holiday spice, decent. The Etruscan (704) - Tuscany, ITALY - JAN 14, 2017
Dark beige weak head. Black colour. Aroma is malty with fruity (prunes and raisins) with licorice and dark chocolate notes. Flavor is malty too with red fruity and chocolate tones, ending in a dark chocolate accented and gently smoky finish. Medium bodied. tom10101 (6228) - Quebec, CANADA - DEC 26, 2016
Bottle (500 ml), shared. Hazy dark brown with a small beige head, moderate retention, leaving sparse lacing. Aroma is peaty with smoke, earthy notes, caramel, red fruits/berries and hints of resin. Taste is sweet but also peated and smokey with caramel malts, resin, red berries and some bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Moderately oily mouthfeel. Peaty finish with lingering berries notes. Like czar said, it’s fun for an x-mas beer because it’s not too "christmas-ey". Borderline too peaty but still manageable and enjoyable because of the other flavors that are able to compensate. Tasty and different. ston3s42 (235) - - NOV 26, 2016
Dark brown appearance with little head. Tastes of smoke, juniper berries and earth. Medium body, low carbonation and a smoky finish. Good peaty Christmas beer

Another Haand tick shared by czar, thanks man! Pours a dark brown with a small beige rim that leaves spotty lacing. Nose is of peat and smoke with some caramel trying to pierce through. Taste doesn’t quite feel sweet but the malt backbone is solid with more peated malt/smoke and some umami. A little more bitter than your usual old ale. Body is pretty much medium and carbonation moderate. Interesting but not overly exciting. czar (9338) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 17, 2016
pours unclear light brown with a small light beige cap offering some retention and lacing. softly smoked fruity maltiness, woodsy spices, never too christmas-ey, which is kewl, lots of foreign berries, salt. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; semi-sweet, warming and spicy finish. rich and complex smoky old ale. rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 26, 2016

GRAN PRODOTTO BlazerT (1219) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - MAY 20, 2016
Bottle. Sensoric. Pitch black with small to medium, light brown head. Medicore head retention, poor lacing. Aroma is roasted malts (mainly coffee and dark chocolate combined with black and red fruits (cherries, plums, some raisins), also touch of smokey notes. Nearly medium caramel and brown sugar notes. Taste is in the beginning light to medium bitter, but soon it becomes something between semi-sweet and semi-dry. Medium body, oily texture, soft to average carbonation, finish is semi-dry and malty. Booze is not so noticable, just a lightly warming. In overall nice, drinkable and full beer. Not so heavy as most of holiday ales.
