Dark brown, cloudy body with a light-brown head of average size and longevity that doesn’t leave much lacing on the glass. Moderate aroma with lots of soapy pine needles, it actually reminds me a lot of pine needle Grønnsåpe (Pine Sol). Also wood, bark and some spices. The taste is light sweet, a very light sourness and a moderate bitter and moderate dry finish. Flavours are dominated by those of the woods, e.g. pine needles and juniper berries. Also spices and yeast, and faint roasted notes and coffee. Medium body, dry texture and a very soft carbonation. A good one, with quite unusual aroma and flavour. mikeyswede (37) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 7, 2012

A bit too dark of an old ale style for my taste but for lovers of stout I think they would be pleased Aaron68 (608) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 3, 2012

Pours a hazy and brown beer with a large offwhite head. The aroma is malt and spices with star anis. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness with spices. Overall a beer below average. visionthing (5471) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 27, 2012
50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Malty and surprisingly hoppy aroma with some (Christmas) spices (cinnamon and cardamom?), roasted malt, chocolate and hints of coffee and dark berries. Sweet and malty, nice and lightly roasty, with a quite dry finish with a nice bitterness. Delicious and refreshing! (2012-11-24)

Pours a dark brown colour with abtan head that lasts a long time. Aroma of roasted malts, pine and some spruce. Flavour consists of smoke, licorice, roasted malts and maybe some toffee in the end. Aftertaste is strong burnt malts. A really good beer, but I would wish for something that could match the big roasty aftertaste. Cunningham (8187) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 20, 2012

Pretty nice christmas beer with bitterness and smoke and dried fruites. Better the warmer. Let this be for a while and drink it at about 12 degrees. Uhlen (251) - Trondheim, NORWAY - NOV 9, 2012
Bottle - batch 516. Dark dark red in color, with a medium brown head. The first thing that strikes me when I stick it up to the nose, is an intense smell of dishwashing-soap. Getting some weak hints of other aromas aswell, but this smell of soap masks everything else. The same weird smell appears in the taste. The fact that noone else mentioned this in their rating of the beer, makes me wonder if this is infected...
