COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once, every farm in Norway was required by law to brew its own ale. All of that ale had a natural smoky taste because the malt was kilned by fire, and most of it was spiced with juniper berries. Norwegian Wood, a recreation of that traditional style, is made by the "Hand Brewery" - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale.

ciekawy okaz, lekko toto dymione, jałowiec gdzieś się skrył w cierpkości, herbaciana barwa, szacun za wskrzeszenia dawnego regionalnego stylu warzenia - lubię taki piwny historyzm etnograficzny

W aromacie i smaku słodowe, dymne, lekko szynkowe, jałowcowe, nieco żywiczne. Pijalność średnia, dość ciężkie. Ogólnie przyjemne piwo o lekko wędzonym charakterze

Aromat średnio intensywny - jakby zmieszanie ogniskowej wędzoności z jakimiś czerwonymi porzeczkami i jagodami. W smaku wędzonka na poziomie umiarkowanym - ciekawie zgrywająca się z akcentami czerwonych i ciemnych owoców. Wysycenie umiarkowane, dosyć pełne i gładkie. Fajny aftertaste. Szanuję.

500mL bottle from Bucket Boys. BB 04 04 2019
Pours a dense inch of white head atop a bronze hazed beer.
Wood smoke prominent from the get go - slight meaty, bacony, grain bread, wood sap, pine, slight gin-esque juniper notes.
Full body, slick creamy texture, drying smoke, good carbonation.
Get a good toffee, biscuity malt sweetness upfront, smoke is ever present but not overpowering - salami-like, campfire - get a sappy character building on the finish, lingering pine needle sort of character.
Not overly funky or potent for a traditional (almost Sahti-like) brew; smokey but pleasant overall.

Clear red/brown liquid, small, airy head. Aroma of smoked ham. Light body, hardly any carbonation. Taste is smoked, a bit sweet and bitter.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2017 2x50cl from source bb:? SEP2017, tak skal i have! Paired with gin-cured char and earthy topinambour creme soup during 1. Adventstasting 2017. - Kort: slightly woodsy sour, well-smoked with a natural smoked wet branch smoke character and above all intense juniper, both branch and berry: oozing with local character, quite intense from phenolic nose to tight timber finish. Alderwood smoke is dry, "blonde", spikier and more reticent, say: lutheran?, than sweeter beechwood Schlenkerla. Good body, marinated with herbal juniper and wet Scandinavian forest. Terroir bottled, quite easy to drink if not as sessionable as the Bamberg nectar. - In many ways to localised, blond/amber version of Alaskan Smoked porter at about the same latitude.

Buona ale color ambra e riflessi marrone, schiuma marroncina fine. Al naso si nota subito un leggero affumicato e speziatura. Bevuta dolce con ginepro che si avverte bene. Bassa carbonazione

MRMedellin (326) - Bogota, COLOMBIA - AUG 27, 2017
Cloudy red- brown beer, standar carbonation, small white head. At nose mainly yeasty aromas like barnyard, caramel and some smoked ones are felt as well. When tasted it has a medium body with a really good balance and at the end a nice bitterness mixed with the smoked flavor. Really enjoyable with greasy food.
