Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is very roasted combined with notes of soy sauce and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and a bit of chocolate, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing. joergen (27970) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2009
Bottle at home.

Roasted aroma of tar and alcohol with notes of smoke, chocolate and liquorice.
Roasted and light acidic flavour of dark chocolate, tar, berries and alcohol.

Funny experiment. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - SEP 10, 2009
Bottled. Quite much opaque black colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel, sugar, strong alcohol, liquor and some wood. Flavour is quite much the same. Some chocolate also. Quite strong alcoholic and liquoriceish sweet notes.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an opaque dark with a brown head. Sweet vinous aroma, burned, ashy malts. Very solid body, sweet hard roasted malts and vanilla. Fruity, dried fruits with a sweet edge. Only a discreet malt bitterness. 130909 omhper (24963) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 3, 2011
Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm. Opaque black, minimal head. Vast aroma of Baileys and brandy. Malty with lots of chocolate, sweet licorice and Mars bar. Full bodied with oily mouthfeel. Potent but edgeless. Intensely warming without being boozy at all. Haandbryggeriet has certainly progressed in my eyes lately. In my point of view their early beers were eye-catching but superficial. As of lately they are real stunners, combining depth and and attractive surface. madmitch76 (24360) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2011

Opaque black beer with the darkest brown head I have ever seen! Crisp palate which wasn’t expected. Dark rich malt with a brandyish tone. Finishes dry and warming with a trace of banana. A bit different.
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2010 Draught at Churchkey, shared with Bryan and Shawn. Black, with a head that resembles the froth on a freshly brewed cup of espresso. Aroma of dark roasted coffee, bitter cocoa. Taste is similar, slightly bitter and chocolate finish. Nice complexity. 4.3
Second tasting on draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010. Smoky flavors more evident, and some vanilla. Great stuff. 4.5
