Bottle. Sensoric. Tasted this some time ago. Dark brown to black with light brown, semi-thick, medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted, burnt, smoked- woody) with lightly spicy and licorice character, also lightly tart. Taste is light to medium sweet with moderate bitterness, which later on becomes drier and more intense. Medium body, watery to oily texture, rather soft carbonation, finish is super roasted with strong tart and woody accents. In general I found this beer odd, but very interesting. This one is not for the beginners, it has very complex taste and aroma. For sure it has to be on the top list of smokey and woody geeks. zvikar (6349) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - OCT 29, 2016

The taste is light-moderate bitter, bit sweet, has light roast, some citric tones, fruitiness. Medium bodied. Nice. Holmen2 (3940) - NORWAY - NOV 28, 2015
Backlog. From tap at Mi2 at Cardinal 22.04.13. Slightly unclear dark brown. Low, but persistent head. Aroma of smoke, some sweetness, strawberries and amber malt. Tate of dark caramel and citrus, with some smoke. Smoke, sourness and hops in aftertaste. Appropriate carbonation. An exciting beer, but a little to sour,

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’ place. Thanks Stas and Vova. Opaque dark brown with a beige head. A little roasty, chocolate candy aroma, bitter, a little alcoholic, a little stale and nutty taste. Medium body, fair fizz, long and a little malty finish.
Carbonazione medio-bassa, corpo medio-alto.
Ben strutturata e ben equilibrata, piacevolissima scoperta

50cl bottle. Batch 690 brewed 27.11.2013. Pours dark cola brown with reddish accents, thick foamy uneven light beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, citrus peel, candied fruits. Taste is roasted malts with some smoked and meaty notes, some ground coffee, faint citrus. Probably the hops are mostly gone but the beer aged quite good overall. Very pleasant mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. scirtes (703) - POLAND - FEB 26, 2015
Bottle, batch 690. Beer is black with beige, long lasting, creamy head. Very nice lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, some dried fruits, raisins, plums, only some hints of smoked malts (?). Sweet with some bitterness. texture somewhat oily. I can’t feel hops aromas, but the beer is not a very fresh one (brewed 27.11.13, bb 27.05.2015). Would never say this is black IPA, nevertheless a great beer, worth trying.
