UPDATED: OCT 19, 2009 Pours a hazy golden with a thin foamy off-white head. Nice blend of sweet banana, soft wheat, and mild spice. Medium bodied with a very soft mouthfeel and lush carbonation. A great hefeweizen that I last rated on 8/18/2005, with same score.

Pretty boring though certainly unoffensive wheat. Flavor has a little lemon in the finish, mostly just yeasty. Little nose, palate a tad watery, appearance typical.

500ml bottle. Aroma is light hoppy and wheaty with a good amount of banana, especially as it warmed up a bit. Average size think white head with most lasting to the end. Colour is light gold and cloudy as expected. The banana flavour is well balanced with a slight sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Good light-medium body mouthfeel - probably from the suspended yeast and wheat. After finishing this bottle I wish I had bought more especially on a hot day like today.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2005 Bottle (500 ml). In my Hacker-Pschorr glass. Poured an opaque, very hazy, lively juicy orange with a large white foamy head, nice thick drapes of lacing. Aroma - oh yeah, it’s wheat-y! - of coriander, clove, sharp, ashy hops, lots of fruit essence (citrus, banana - these are esters?), maybe a bit of candyish malt. Taste - mildly spicy, the hops are there but restrained, enough lemon to make me think someone squeezed a slice in while my back was turned (not the case), again strong on the fruit essence as above, couldn’t say there was malt flavour, but it balanced over to the sweet side. Very juicy and a bit acidic mouthfeel, definitely a beer to consume many of on a fine summer day.

1pint 0.9 oz bottle( October 2003) Only $2.29 +tax & of course CRV. Aroma is a welcoming of bubblegumm, spice, clove, wheat, and perhaps malt as well. Created a thick yet soft pillow of head and it sat gently over a gold crystal clear beer. The flavor is rather bland, but it does contain some tiny signs of bubblegum, sourgrass and lemon squeeze. It’s okay, but in my opinion falls short from meeting what i expect in a hefeweizen, especially a German import.

Draft: Had this many a times in a bottle, but decided that I finally needed to rate this brew now. Poured a typical golden wheat color. Nice and cloudy. Tasted of storng banana esters, with lots of citrus also. Nice clean finish and body. I drank may of these tonight. Yum yum. A solid session brew.

12 ounce bottle, poured into a Weihenstephaner weisse glass. ...but not very skillfully...we’ve got 3 inches of beer and 8 inches of foam....now, we play the waiting game.. looks lovely, cloudy tangerine, vast, dotted froth... aroma: banana, lemon, and orange leap right out the glass and invade the nose, with a kick of spice at the side...traces of cookie dough and soft cinnamon. Taste: fruity at the fore, sparkly and spicy...then smooth and tasty. Ridiculously drinkable, medium-bodied, with a light, yet lingering citrus & yeast finish. This beverage easily meets my approval. I could have a hearty session with these in hot weather such as we have now...heck, I’m already on my second bottle!

bottle poured into weizen glass.a decent hefe. could have used more body, but hit the spot in a bar that has mostly bmc taps. again, i need to remember to ask for no fruit in my beers. oh well. very accessable brew.

A very good hefeweizen. Banana, citrus in the aroma, and nice carbonation. The taste was very pleasing, smooth and refreshing. A nice beer to have on a hot day. One of my favorite hefes.

Bouteille-De couleur ambré et opaque, goût rafraichissant d’orange et de céréales. Une très mince couche de mousse. Un goût fort mais pas durable.--Bottle-Amber, opaque. Orange and cereals taste. A very thin white head with strong taste but it is not lasting
