Clear with adherent and persistent foam. Scents of wine cellar, mildew, seasoned. A great weisse.

Refreshing. Lemony, creamy with a nice kick of carbonation to tickle the throat. Very good summer beer...goes very nice with food - sushi, steak ribs. Overall very satisfying.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2005 This is a descent hefeweizen but far from the best. I want to rerate this properly versus just giving it a grade. It pours a nice golden color which looks like a tripel but less cloudy. There is a lot of banana and lemon and surprisingly low carbonation. The aroma is very pleasant and consists of malts, wheat, banana, lemon and a touch of white wine. The taste is dominated by banana and lemon with a bit of white wine in it as well. It is good but too one dimensional. I like complexity and I am not getting that here. This beer is pretty good and certainly easy to drink.

This is the beer that made me realize that there is more out there than BMC. Wonderful wheat and banana aroma. Slight citric taste. Please don’t let your bartender ruin this with a lemon slice. Second only to Weihenstephener.

Poured a murky amber with a large white head that left a thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is strong and smells of fresh banana. Taste has a good hefe sweetness, but not overly spicy. Very drinkable, and definitely one of the better hefes I’ve had.

Ok second Hacker beer of the night. Have to say its a rather average looking hefe, slighly hazy orange with a large pure white frothy head. Smell is quite pleasant ..the usual..bananas, clovestec tec. The after the good aroma I was expecting a nice tasting German hefe..but it was quite flat..the flavours are all there but they are muted..dissapointing. Quite average on the palate. Its drinkable but no were near as good as the Dunkle -weissen.

Pours a hazy deep yellow color with a frothy white head. Mild banana and grassy aroma. Very soft, smooth in the mouth. Some spiciness, banana, and a touch of citric in the flavor. Quite refreahing with a slightly tart finish. Good stuff.

Draft, near the top of the Zugspitz. Massive lasting head tops beautiful bright orange nearly opaque body---like every other proper weizen. Low key banana esters in the nose, pleasant but nothing to stand out from the crowd. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel, quite sweet, lightly bready, not at all tart. This is certainly well-done, but doesn’t seem like anything special to me. I think I enjoyed it more because I was thousands of feet up there, and the air was a bit thin.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2006 I don’t mind what other say, this is the supreme Weiss Bier of all!. Creamy, deliscious, after it, all the weize beers I have drank are just that, but this is THE WEISS BIER. I tasted it in München.

Pours a cloudy orangish amber, with a decent sized off white head that settles to a thin cap. Aroma is yeasty, floral, grainy, fruity (bannana, pineapple). Flavor is griany, spicy, fruity. finish is lightly grainy, lightly spicy. Good beer, but I think I’m getting bored with Hefe.
