Draft, near the top of the Zugspitz. Massive lasting head tops beautiful bright orange nearly opaque body---like every other proper weizen. Low key banana esters in the nose, pleasant but nothing to stand out from the crowd. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel, quite sweet, lightly bready, not at all tart. This is certainly well-done, but doesn’t seem like anything special to me. I think I enjoyed it more because I was thousands of feet up there, and the air was a bit thin.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2006 I don’t mind what other say, this is the supreme Weiss Bier of all!. Creamy, deliscious, after it, all the weize beers I have drank are just that, but this is THE WEISS BIER. I tasted it in München. Padron4KM (810) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - OCT 17, 2004
Pours a cloudy orangish amber, with a decent sized off white head that settles to a thin cap.
Aroma is yeasty, floral, grainy, fruity (bannana, pineapple).
Flavor is griany, spicy, fruity.
finish is lightly grainy, lightly spicy.
Good beer, but I think I’m getting bored with Hefe. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - OCT 17, 2004

Hazy orange colour. Lacey head. Cloves aroma, with some banana. Citric taste, somewhat sour. Yeasty. Some spiciness in the finish. Medium-bodied. A little too much on the citric side for me, otherwise an excellent weizen. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - OCT 13, 2004
Tap. hazy dark yellow with medium white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma citrus, mostly lemon. Some banana. Flavor is almost all lemon and some other citrus. Fairly light and refreshing. Fizzy, which helps the refreshingness. I need to be out in the sun not a dark stank bar. jmm1 (132) - Andorra la Vella, ANDORRA - OCT 11, 2004
Orange cloudy with a small head that dissipates quickly. Clove and malt aroma, slightly stronger than usual weizens. Flavor is banana dominated with bready notes of wheat at the end. Nice smooth palate with refreshing fizziness. A well balanced weizen without surprises. Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 6, 2004
My bottle is just labeled "Weisse," but judging from the ratings and the fact it is labeled at 5.5% I’m guessing it’s the same thing.
Cloudy yellow, nice head. Aroma is all citrus, lots of lemon and orange. Good malty mouthfeel, maybe a little too fizzy. Taste is full and citrusy with hints of wheat, but not much. Some slightly off bitterness in the finish, but not bad. Aftertaste is just a little dry and alcholic. Not a bad offering at all- why all the low scores guys? obisbeer (568) - Barcelona, SPAIN - OCT 5, 2004
Milky cloudy orange with thick foam like head. Strong banana, clove and citrus aromas draw from the glass. Creamy medium mouthfeel with nice acidity on the finish. Flavors of banana and spice with a underlying citrus back bone. Very nice beer.
