“Munich Gold” closely resembles our Münchner Hell in terms of taste and mainly owes its popularity to a slightly higher original gravity and the malty note. The result is a full-bodied yet mild taste which delivers an increasingly bitter note before culminating into an aromatic finish. A real treat for true beer connoisseurs!

The types of barley grown in the Swabian Jura and in the Upper Palatinate Region of Bavaria are excellently suited for the production of this timeless classic.

Hacker-Pschorr has been brewing beer in the traditional Bavarian manner since 1417. The high-quality beers the brewery produces are all brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only water, malt and hops.

Draft - Really light and crystal clear beer. Slight bready smell, reminds me of the zoo. Tastes a little like bread as well. Has a sweet flavor to it. Pretty strong banana taste to it. Clean on the palate.

Aroma is very light, reminds of a beautiful Bavarian village. You can feel nice and gentle notes of fresh hay and a sweet smell from the barley fields. The purest gold colour is accompanied by very soft carbonation. The taste is too pure I guess, it is too gentle, almost silky. You can feel hops, corn and sweet malt. Just a small bit of a well-timed bitterness in the end. To conclude, very decent pale lager. I’d prefer it sometime in the evening, maybe with dinner, not the type of beer to waste by cooling yourself.

Clear gold color with aroma of corn, bread, and hint of honey. Bread malt flavor with sweet corn and honey sweetness. Nice beer.

Bottle. Aroma is bread, malty, some grassy hops. Taste is a bit sweet, malty and grainy. Nothing special, but better than standard.

Towey1989 (3650) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 11, 2017
Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a clear golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of bready malts, honey, a hint of apple and subtle herbal hops. Taste of bready malts, some honey, slight apple, a hint of pear and subtle herbal hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A sweetish, honeyed, herbal bitterness in the finish. Quite a sweet lager with honey and apple been quite dominant. Ok but not what I want in a German Helles.

0.5 l bottle from Alko (Tasted May 12, 2017). Appearance is golden, clear and OK head. Taste has herbs, malts and overall sweetness. Not much of hops, but still balanced. Quite easy to drink considering the higher ABV.

From Decervecitas. In Bavaria Hefe glass. Playing 12 Labours of Hercules V. Sweet bready malt with grassy hops bitterness and a light body. Nice but I miss a bit more body. Good initial aspect but foam dissipates pretty quick

Slightly cloudy but had the German hoppy bite that ie joy very much. Not as strong as Beck’s lager but one I would definitely purchase again.

Can. Clear pale golden pour with a decent white head. Aroma is a little grainy, some caramel, apple juice as it warms. Taste is simple and light, nice for a lager but nothing special.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2017 Enjoyable lager, golden in colour. Light in flavour, nicely quaffable, would be good in the sun
