“Munich Gold” closely resembles our Münchner Hell in terms of taste and mainly owes its popularity to a slightly higher original gravity and the malty note. The result is a full-bodied yet mild taste which delivers an increasingly bitter note before culminating into an aromatic finish. A real treat for true beer connoisseurs!

The types of barley grown in the Swabian Jura and in the Upper Palatinate Region of Bavaria are excellently suited for the production of this timeless classic.

Hacker-Pschorr has been brewing beer in the traditional Bavarian manner since 1417. The high-quality beers the brewery produces are all brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only water, malt and hops.

Nice German Lager. Malty and low on hops compared to most Muncheners. Refreashing after a work-out with a nurishing feel. I like it.

Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into shaker glass. Appearance: Clear golden colour, medium head. Aroma: Malt, grains. Palate: Light body; mild carbonation. Taste: Malt, barley, bread, hint of hops, bitter aftertaste. Overall impression: Excellent, tasty, enjoyable, refreshing. Beer as it once was.

Bottle on a hot, over stuffed commuter train. Very crisp, with a simple but tasty combination of sweet bread and a light, clean finish. Maltier and sightly sweeter than a standard Euro lager, and it has more flavor while managing to stay as crisp and refreshing as anything.

Jabic (702) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - OCT 7, 2017
Ar: Cleanly toasty; a touch of hay and a round crustiness; slight sweetness and dried flowers. Ap: True golden and crystal clear; medium white head with moderate-low retention, settling into a thin wash of bubbles. T: Light bread; toasty and lightly sweet; quite clean, with a malt emphasis; bitterness is medium-high and slightly tannic, accompanied by a moss and dried flowers hop flavor; finish is fading toast, bitterness, and, then, chalk. P: Medium-light body with very high carbonation; finish is dry. O: A satisfying dortmunder (at least, a "dortmunder" to my taste); combines an assertive (though only lightly toasted) malt profile with a firm hopping; cleanly malty throughout.

500ml bottle. Pours golden yellow colour. Moderate white head. Caranelly, slighlty sweet, malty aroma. Notes of dust and grain. Malty, sweet beginning. Bitterness. Malty, bitter notes. Malt, caramel in the end. Slightly sweet, honey-like malty finish. Bitterness as well. Slightly crisp in the end. Rather sweet, light bodied, medium carbonated lager beer.

330 ml bottle. Malt and bread smells. Pours a bright gold with a big white quickly dissipating head. Slightly sweet, crisp lager with a light sour in the finish. Super balanced, mild carbonation. Nicely made beer and better than average lager.

sharkydodson (1803) - St. Petersburg, RUSSIA - SEP 5, 2017
the aroma is malty and herbal with shades of grain, flowers and hay... the taste is malty and herbal with notes of grain, straw and grasses... bitter and dry aftertaste...

Piepenhenrich (1230) - Steinbach, GERMANY - SEP 3, 2017
Very fine example of a superior Helles, with a bit more powerful, well-balanced flavors, still easy enough to drink to make for an excellent refresher on a summer day or to accompany good Bavarian food.

monksmisery (28) - - AUG 21, 2017
woody and smokey taste reminiscent of fine whiskey, perhaps barrel aged in secret bavarian caves? balanced malt profile; both smooth and complex. in conjunction with hops, unforgettable in its overall delivery. good for all seasons, easy to impress company with this one or simply get wasted at oktoberfest on this beauty.

pamaral148 (20) - CANADA - AUG 15, 2017
Clear golden brew with a modest aroma that is all malty bread and cereal. Lightly sweet initial impression with a richer body than most beers of this style. Very respectable lager that is ideal in warm weather or even with food.
