Dark in color, malty nose, generous flavor; yet with a clean, hoppy finish, Hacker-Pschorr Alt Munich Dark is the essence of dark beers.

A decent "dark" beer, comparable to others in its class but not really a stand-out. I had the draft version.

Kita (1945) - Koper, SLOVENIA - OCT 27, 2016
Swing-top bottle, 0.50l, courtesy of Maurizio. Clear ruby brown color with large soapy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of honey, cereals, toasted malt, grass and some dust. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel with grainy and nutty notes, follows grassy with mild spicy mouthfeel and pleasant noble bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Not bad, but had bigger expectations...

A nice creamy head, with thin lacing and a deep transparent amber color. It opens with dry fruit and crisp barley. Low IBU’s and complex grain notes lend a rich complexity to a beer that is so drinkable. Goes fantastic with schnitzel!

On-tap at Zum Wildschutz, Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Pours clear light brown with a nice head. Aroma of caramel, roast and light nutty notes. Sweet, malty, more caramel, notes of dried fruits and dark bread, some bitterness. Medium-bodied. Decent.

ours a deep dark brown. Aromas of roasted malts, smoke, and hints of fruit. Flavors of the roasted malts, some fruit, with a light choco aftertaste.

Dark brown red with medium tan head. Aroma is roast dark chocolate and a little dried fruit. Taste is a convincing mixture of sweet and bitter. Full bodied but missing some balance. Overall still good

Draft pours deep clear chestnut with garnet hues, with a fluffy lasting khaki head. Flawless. Nice nutty caramel aroma. The flavor is quite nutty and sweet with toffee prominent, not much bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very solid dunkaroo here. Oh and this is my 3900th rating. NBD, I tick.

From a bottle. Looks and smells the part, great example of style, roasted aroma and flavours.

Bottiglia.
