Velvety matte shine – Smooth, full-bodied flavor
Munich Kellerbier Anno 1417 shines with a seductive golden honey color. A beer with a distinctive character: earthy, bold, quaffable and yet refreshingly mild and light. Just like a real Bavarian.

Creamy and effervescent, typical of unfiltered beers, a delightful ticklish mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, honey and plum dominate and emphasize the beer’s malty, spicy flavor. Unmistakable hints of apple and grapefruit bring in a fruity freshness.

Our Munich Kellerbier, a beer like from the good old days when beer was born. After aging four weeks, it is bottled unfiltered, which still preserves all its yeast vitamins and trace elements.

Since 1417, Hacker Pschorr stands for traditional Bavarian brewing. The quality beers of Hacker-Pschorr are all brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only hops, malt and water. 12.5°

500ml bottle from Beerstore at O’Connor, East York, Ontario. 5.5% alc./vol. Pours a hazy dark gold colour with one finger of white head which quickly recedes to a ring shaped film. Hoppy aroma with a whiff of yeast. Taste matches aroma. Well balanced. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Had a weihenstephan dunkel last night and this seems surprisingly similar, if not quite as over ripe fruity. Colour is lovely clear dark golden tending toward orange and almost red. Thick white long lasting head with great lacing. Aroma of bread, caramel sweet with spicy fruit that threatens to leave a sour finish but refrains, lingering nicely. Soft carbonation. Light and refreshing, goes down a treat. I wasn’t expecting to be impressed but I’m looking forward to it again. Really good.

Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a hazy deep golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma of grain, bready malts, some honey, slight orange and subtle herbal hops. Taste of grain, bready malts, some honey, slight orange, a hint of butter and subtle herbal hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, slightly bready, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. A good lager/Kellerbier, bready, honey and subtle hop bitterness in the finish. Good for its strength and refreshing.

500ml flip top bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a medium, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, honey and orange. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, bread, honey, orange and light tangerine with a mild, bitter grass finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A decent Kellerbier.

Very lightly hazy amber color with small and weak-ish white foam. Aromas sweet of honey, caramel, dates, and pie followed by light fresh malt touch. Palate, medium to full body with smooth texture and low carbonation, leaving sweet pleasant finish. Taste, sweet of fresh grains/malt, honey, pie crust and light caramel touch at the back. Overall, nice refreshing beer, sweet and tasty. Do recommend.
