The pleasure of yesteryear
Velvety matte shine – Smooth, full-bodied flavor
Munich Kellerbier Anno 1417 shines with a seductive golden honey color. A beer with a distinctive character: earthy, bold, quaffable and yet refreshingly mild and light. Just like a real Bavarian.

Creamy and effervescent, typical of unfiltered beers, a delightful ticklish mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, honey and plum dominate and emphasize the beer’s malty, spicy flavor. Unmistakable hints of apple and grapefruit bring in a fruity freshness.

Our Munich Kellerbier, a beer like from the good old days when beer was born. After aging four weeks, it is bottled unfiltered, which still preserves all its yeast vitamins and trace elements.

Since 1417, Hacker Pschorr stands for traditional Bavarian brewing. The quality beers of Hacker-Pschorr are all brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only hops, malt and water. 12.5°

500ml bottle. Pours a lightly hazy golden hue with an off-white head. On the nose, straw, sweet malt notes, faint minerality, a very light note that makes me think "bran flakes" and a bit of indiscernible fruitiness. Taste wise, heavier bodied than expected and sweet with malt in the forefront, minerality, with a tiny bit of spice and dried fruits that heads into heavy malt notes, very faint toffee, and mineral bitterness in the finish.

500 ml swing top bottle. Bright cloudy orange honey brew. Active carbonation. Almost 4 finger thick white head. Stays. Aroma: sweet tobacco, dry leaves, diacetyl, grain, lager yeast. Flavour is grain sourness, tobacco, diacetyl, butter, little spiciness. Lagerish hoppy bitter finish. Smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle from M&S, Camberley. Typical sweet and sour lager aroma. Light amber. A slight haze to it. Thin white head. Sour. This continues through to the finish. However it does develop some sweetness - something between honey and saccharine, depending on how generous you want to be. Light bodied. Creamy textured, aided by soft carbonation. However the sourness gets acidic and the finish is overly astringent - a feature I’m no fan of. Otherwise would be a decent enough lager lager lager.

500 ml swing top bottle. The beer is a hazed gold with a white head of foam. The aroma is bready, grassy, and a little bit spicy. Taste is spices and herbs. Dry and spicy in the finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty nice beer.

Puck me thats a good looking beer. Beautiful dark yellow colour with a big fluffy head. Gives off a biscuity, pubby aroma. Its a pleasure to drink through that nice, soft head. Great texture, full bodied. Taste is refreshing yet hearty, subtle yet charming. Well balanced. Just a damn good lager beer.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2017 500ml .Swing Top. A good dark kraut lager . Malty atmosphere . Very easy to chug and despite being a mainstream Kellerbier, it retains some rustic character ...hay,brown bread, toasted vibes. You can taste the haystack texture where the farmers daughter was conceived in a lingering citrus swallow refresh.
