awesome beer - just what I have come to expect from German breweries. after so many hops overloaded "craft" beers (craft, by definition, is a small brewer who thinks pine cones and herbs should be in beer - not barley and hops) in the USA - it is a WELCOME event to taste an actual beer. wonderful!!!!!!! you German brewers!!!!!!!& mikey (508) - farmington, Utah, USA - FEB 15, 2007
Poured a dark golden hue with a head of foamy ivory that quickly dissapeared. The nose was of toasted malt and a floral/fruity hoppiness. The tatse starts with sweet malts, dark breads and some hints of toffee. Mild to medium bitters come next offsetting the malts. Tastes sweet, bitter, dry, malty and hoppy all at once. The finish was nutty, smooth and mildly bitter. The feel was moderate due to medium to low carbonation. This was a great session beer, and would do just as well in a large stein. A smooth, simple, malty beer, that’s great anytime.
