This is the beer that they serve at The Oktoberfest. Sold in the US as "Superior Festbier"

Growler 200cl. @ DOE Tasting, Fox & Hounds, Holstebro.

Clear medium yellow color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, light hoppy, grass - straw. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101026]

Keg at Three Johns, 04/10/16. Clear golden to light copper with a minimal white cap that soon vanishes. Nose is pale malts, orange, toasted grains, lemon.Taste comprises cereals, pale malt, vanilla, sweet malt, caramel, soft bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Crisp clean number if a touch sweet.

At the Esplanada Bier Markt in Toronto, Hacker put on a big Oktoberfest bash. They gave away free mugs, paraded out the roast pig and sauerkraut, and flew in a handful of kegs of the Oktoberfest Lager, which is normally only found at the Oktoberefest in Munich. (Shhh...don't tell the dozens of people over at Beer Advocate who've all rated the Marzen under the Lager listing by mistake!). Golden colour, robust foam. Light aroma - some toasty notes. Crackerlike maltiness, with a little complexity contributed by pale Munich or Vienna malts. No hop aroma or flavour, but a little bit of dryness in the finish. No caramel, unlike the Marzen. Unfortunately, this confirms what I've heard about the Oktoberfest beers at the actual Oktoberfest being bland pale lagers rather than the robust Marzens that are sent overseas. Nice to get to try it, but the Marzen is the better beer.

Draft - Grains, honey and lemon. Fizzy yellow with a foamy white head. Very light with lots of grain and a hint of lemon. Easy drinking.

Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2016
Keg at casc. It pours clear gold with a medium white head. The aroma is buttered white bread roll, straw, cereal, cracker, spice and hay. The taste is bitter - sweet, sugary, muffin, white bread, grassy, cracker and cornbread with shor, dryish finish. Medium body and moderate - High, foamy carbonation. A touch sweet if anything. OK lagerbier. Decent for style.

Lubiere (13911) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 2, 2006
On tap at Pub Italia. Golden coloured with lacing white head. Sweet perfumey malt in aroma, with light soapy hops. In mouth, crisp biscuity malts, with faint german hops, lacking in character. Hohum beer.

shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - SEP 17, 2016
Draft. Lightly buttery barley malt and hay aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Moderately sweet barley malt and mildly bitter hay flavor. Nice body. Smooth - this was my 4th liter of beer during Oktoberfest so some of the subtle nuances may have escaped me.

pivnizub (10618) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - OCT 1, 2005
On draught live at the Oktoberfest: Pale golden coloured; not very long lasting white head; a mainly malt accented brew, little bitterness in the finish; soft and easy drinkable.........
