Orange-amber, clear beer; yellowish tinted head, fast gone. Very subdued nose, some malt sugars. Water-sodden bread. Sweet-bready, and especially malty taste, finish being a bit drier, hinting at hops, slightly metallic. Strangely, exactly as in the just tasted Octoberfest (Sam Adams), I get a metallic MF, though not typical copper this time (and I’m NOT on antibiotics!). Medium bodied at best. Aftertaste returns to more sweetness. Not very exciting, really. Is this Heineken’s accountants’ doing, or just global superficialisation - or is that saying the same thing twice?

light brown color rocky white head. Very light aroma slightly sweet hardly there. Palate is carbonated and well coated. Some light bitter grass and a nice carmel malt flavor w/ hints of honey and citrus. Ok stuff.

Mostly this seemed a bit flat. The flavor was a little too malty and it just didn’t have any crispness. Of course, it’s hard to say how it was handled, but it didn’t impress too much.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Quite dark, nice head. Starts strong, alcoholic, modest malty and fruity. Not so intense finish, almost washy. Average beer!

Bottle. Aroma of sweet malts, graham, overripe fruits. Flavor quite sweet, a bit too sweet perhaps. Oktoberfest not really a favorite style of mine, so for me, this beer just kind of is.

pours a dark amber colour with a medium tight foamy off white head. Aroma is rich biscuity malt, grassy hop. Flavour is pretty strong grassy hop backed up by a toasty biscuity malt body. A sour-ish thin finish. I was actually expecting a bit more unfortunately.

Brewed in Germany. Pours a nice amber color with a dissipating white head. Aroma of caramel, malts, and bread. The taste is of mild hops, caramel, and a hint of honey. The mouthfeel is a bit sweet, but refreshing. This is another enjoyable brew from Hacker-Pschorr.

500ml bottle. Pours dark amber with medium sized white head. Caramel malts, yeast, some dark fruits. Quite easy to drink. Very well balanced, quality brew. Just not that big fan of the style.
