A genuine old-Bavarian beer speciality. Dark malts gives it its spicy-aromatic taste and typical dark color.

TEJA (3257) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 24, 2017
Sampled at the Hacklberg Bräustubrl, Passau. No head. Clear brown color. Nice roasted malty aroma with a touch of darker cara malts. Small sweetness and nice malty taste balanced by a medium bitterness.

Frisch vom Hahn im Brauhaus. Recht vollmundige Dunkel mit gut ausgeprägtem Körper. Die Malzaromen sind gut ausbalanciert.

Arctium_lappa (12) - Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2017
A rather thin dunkel beer that after a first sip then develops a more complex malt & hops taste but odes not last into much of a perceptible aftertaste. A perfectly respectable dunkel beer but not a great one.

Klares orange braunes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch nussig malzig, leicht röstmalzig, Karamell. Geschmack mild röstmalzig, karamellig, nussig, mild würzig hopfig, okay!

500 ml bottle as Hacklberg Dunkel. 333. BB 28/05/2013. From bierundbier.de.
Clear hazelnut colour with a small to average sized off-white head. Lots of malty sweetness, diacetyl, some bread, nuts and mild hops in the aroma. The flavour is somewhere between dry German Dunkel and sweet Czech Tmavý. Diacetyl, sweetness, toasted malt and some hops in the flavour. Not bad in any way but still I won’t remember this tomorrow. Some dryness in the aftertaste. Nuts too.

50 cl bottle as ”Hacklberg Dunkel”. Rated on 18.11.2009
Dark red colour, disappearing head. Aroma has lots of rye bread and sweet malt. Flavour is sweet with rye bread, malt and hints of raisins. A bit thin, but good.
