12/12/13/13/12/13

33cl bottle pours with a gold body that has a slight haze and supports a nice white head. The aroma offers up malt sweetened hard orange candy, a sweet earthy lime hard candy and a light floral hop note. Interesting, it is on the light side but the various facets are intriguing. Wow, the flavor is malt sweetened juicy citrus goodness that has a great load of flavor and only a moderate level of hop bitterness. It seems to have a mix of clementine, tangerine and orange with a light degree of malt sweetness and a thin ribbon of slightly roasted malts well off in the background. These flavors go very well together. Yet another great tasting brew from this brewery. Yes!

peponi (1862) - Hannover, GERMANY - OCT 11, 2014
Aroma: fresh white citrus, grapefruit, riesling notes. Appearance: hazy golden color, nice white head. Taste: medium bitterness (resin, grapefruit), nice malty backbone, fresh citrus notes (mango, grapefruit), some herbal notes, alcohol is well-covered. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Fantastic beer, which shows all German hops potential. Recommended.

Ladna drobnopecherzykowa, zlocisto pomaranczowa barwa. W zapachu bardzo chmielowe, swieze cytryny, trawa cytrynowa. W smaku, dosyc mocna goryczka, bardzo fajnie pozostajaca w ustach, az chce sie wziac zaraz drugi lyk. Bardzo ladny lacing.

Bouteille 33cl, thanks Tomaz. BB 26.02.2014. Note citronnelle et pamplemousse, pointe d’épice. Bière intéressante sous tous les angles accompagnée d’une très belle balance des malts et houblons. Le tout reste très désaltérant et mettant bien à profit les houblons.

I was totally surprised by this one. Floral, grape-fruity. An absolute delight to drink. Solid IPA.

330ml botle. Clear golden colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Intense fruity hoppy aroma with a herbal touch, grapefruit, tangerine and orange zest notes. Taste is citrusy hoppy, tangerine, orange, orange zest, a grassy touch, minimally to moderately sweet pale malty background. Superbly balanced, straight, clear, absolutely successful. A further improvement compared to - and surely resulting from the experiences with - the previously released Hopfenstopfer ales.
