COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Adam is a recreation of a historic beer-style, originally made in Dortmund, Germany and was the first Beer ever released from this Brewery. He is made with Northwest hops, organic pilsner malt, and a variety of specialty grains. The beer is rich and smokey, with notes of chocolate and dark fruit. Best served as a dessert beer. It is great with cigars, or just a warm fire and good company.

batch 48. all i have to say is WOW. this is GREAT. i chose to drink mine with a cigar- as the bottle suggests. dark in color with a thick creamy brown head that lasts until the end of the glass. smell is full of figs and some cherry aroma. taste is sweet but not TOO sweet, this is such a good beer i cant imagine anything better that isnt an imperial stout or imp ipa. alcohol is well hidden and only until the end do you notice it is there. this beer smells so good its almost as good to smell it as it is to drink it. so good. NC needs to raise the limit so i could buy this on a daily basis. this will become my new session beer if the law is raised. this is fucking incredible!

On tap at Beer Temple. Deep amber-brown colour, beige head. Aroma of wood, tobacco, malts, light herbal, hint of smoke. Flavour is malty, tobacco, light wood, herbal, light caramel and chocolate, bitter finish, earthy. Medium to full bodied. Tasty.

September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Hair of the Dog Adam'. Great to catch up with this classic. Dark brown, opaque, foamy light brown head. Aroma is raspberry, sugary dates, lots of dates. Body is light and smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is dates and molasses, chocolate, little spicy, some ash, papery finish with a boozy linger. OK stuff but was expecting more given the high score. (7-4-7-3-15=3.6)

Batch 61

Poured into the glass(after I lost some on initial opening) with a huge off-white head, this is some very dark stuff, bordering on black.

The smell has some fruit notes to it but the dominating aroma I get reminds me of antiseptic.

The taste is a real hodgepodge of not so good flavours that is dominated by the antiseptic that I mentioned in the smell followed closely by a bitter-sour attack that leaves my taste buds in total disarray.

This one is not for me.

Nice beer, slightly bitter to me for the style. Tastes as it looks, hazy, but good overall, not as great as the ratings on here. Hair of the dog portland ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Clear, dark red with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses and raisins. Rather sweet, malty, slightly smoky and a bit fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins and smoked ham, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and rather smoky and a bit boozy finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty!

Draft @ Borefts 2017. Had this several times before bottled (first time in 2001 I believe). Dark brown color, mostly clear. Off white head, not much. Aroma's: sweet, toffee, fruit. Retronasal it's sweet, buttery, toffee. Flavor is above moderate sweet, fruity, caramel, moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Long finish, moderate bitter.

Sweet roasted malts, something alcoholic, a chocolate bitter finish; something hearty is prominently present, but I can't quite pinpoint what it is.

On draft @BBF17, Bodegraven. Hazy dark brown colored, small beige head. Lots of malts, herbal notes, plums, aged notes, sweet and somewhat bitter. Great beer.
