Rating #1676 - #CBC2015 Beer 61 - Day 4 - On tap at HOTD w/ Ferris. Hazy yellowish amber pour with a lasting white head, thick and frothy. Lots of aromas here, citrusy Amarillo hoppiness present as well as some caramel, and a spiciness. Taste is bold citrusy hops, tempered with a sweet, bready consistency that disguises the alcohol content. Finish is quite dry, lingering pleasant spicy burn. monk191 (1978) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 31, 2015
A quite nice beer, not what we expected at all. Pours a bright orange with a thick white head. Smells of vanilla and caramel. Taste is very thick, sort of like their Fred. More vanilla and figs, with a malty finish. Had on tap at the brewery. beastiefan2k (3981) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - JUL 10, 2015
On tap @ Hair of the Dog during RBSG. Love the melon fruit malt and yeast combo. Cant tell its lagered, seems like an ale. No harsh alcohol at all. Low bitter. Thicker body. Not cloying sweetness and fruit make this thick. Golden color with a little lacing. Soft carbonated body. Surprisingly awesome beer. I haven’t said that about HotD in a long time. hayduke (5209) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 5, 2015
At hofd during the RGSG. Draft pour clear amber. White head. . Hose of floral hops. Medium body. Flavor is rich with floral and grassy hops. Mild bitter finish. Quite nice. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 2, 2015
On tap @ Hair of the Dog. Hazed orange pour with a white head. Fruity aroma of blueberry, pear, and peach. Pretty sugary, though. Some brown sugar, maybe banana, and a lot of caramel. Light grassy bitterness on the back end. Lots of caramel, toffee, and perhaps some butterscotch. Slight pear and a blueberry. Hints of citrus and pine. Maybe some cooked apple. Pretty nice.

Tap. Pours hazy orange, medium off white head, nice lacing. Aroma is light, citrus, pine, caramel, buttery. Flavor is medium plus sweet, medium bitter, the lager version of a barley wine. Full creamy body. mcberko (17845) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 21, 2015
On tap at Hair of the Dog, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out grassy notes, some herbal hops and biscuity notes. Flavour is quite robust for the style, with grassy hops, sweet cereal malts, and logo herbal notes. Very well-balanced and robust. Really nice stuff. djd07 (14521) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 20, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma grain, grass, caramel. Thick mouth, similar flavors to nose, very good. Prufrockstar (2132) - Moscow, Idaho, USA - JUN 20, 2015
Draft at HOTD with huge thanks to HOTD for today. Clear amber. Caramel, syrup, sulfur, brown sugar, herbal hop presence. I don’t know why I passed this up before, because as usual HOTD doesn’t disappoint. Ferris (15291) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 20, 2015
Draft - Sweet caramel and malts with a touch of vegetal notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Sweet and bitter with a long finish. Syrupy and strong.
