On tap at the tasting room. Pours a dark, deep cherry red - pretty much indistinguishable from Cherry Adam. Pretty much no head, appears flat except for a small amount of bubbles at the top. Aroma is deep oak with some cherry and alcohol. I get bourbon out of this but it’s probably just the intense vanilla and wood as I don’t think this was in bourbon barrels. The cherries and oak in this have pretty much covered up the original Fred, making this seem extremely similar to Cherry Adam. Flavor is surprisingly drinkable, smooth even. Alcohol is hidden well. Wine-like fruitiness and complexity. I think I prefer the Cherry Adam at this point but this is still excellent if not completely different.

September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Hair of the Dog Cherry Fred from the Wood'. Dark ruby reddy brown, translucent and still with a foamy pale white pink head. Aroma is cherry flesh but also some kitty litter. Body is light and frothy with soft carbonation. Taste is rich cherry, slightly tart, cherry really dominating with a smooth finish. I like it. On tap at Birriria Volo, after all these years of missing this dog. Initially soapy glass despite the high $ per ounce. Then cherry, plastic cherry, sweet canned cherry. and Bourbon maple syrup that is the real taste, and not the off taste.

thomat (4144) - Gteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2017
On tap @ BBF 2107. Dark red with no head. Fruity and malty tones. Fruit, malt, bitter and sour. Full body with a bitter / fruity finish.

MarcoDL (5383) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 1, 2017
At Borefts 2017. Aroma of cherry, oak, boozy vanilla, bourbon and creamy caramel. Taste has creamy vanilla, raisin, ripe fruit, booze, oak and caramel. Long evolving finish. Piece of art.

Benzai (16685) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 27, 2017
Sampled @ Borefts Beer Festival 2017, day 1. Dark brown to dark red-brown color, no head. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, lovely caramel and raisin in there, very balanced, light but noticeable cherry in there with a nice mix of sweet sour and bitter. Very complex and ver lovely indeed! (Or was it the Brandy Cherry Fred they poured? Unclear so far, will move rating when clarified)

bierkoning (13689) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - SEP 26, 2017
Tap @ Borefts 2017. Lots of oak and cherry brandy in the aroma. Malty, alcoholic, dry, oak, vanilla and a hint of cherry in the flavor. Complex and delicious.

Martinus (4701) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2017
Clear deep dark amber brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of cherry, wood, caramel, coffee, vanilla. Sweet flavour, sourish cherry note, sweet caramel, coffee, dried sweet prune, bourbon note (expect it is because of the choice of barrel), honey. Finish wood, cherry, toffee, vanilla. Great!
(from draught @ Borefts '17)

Beerhunter111 (22513) - P´Castle, GERMANY - SEP 24, 2017
Sampled @ Borefts Beer Festival 2017. A very dark brown beer. Aroma of coffee, dark riped fruits, wood. Taste of strong riped fruits, vanilla, wood, boozy finish.

sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - SEP 24, 2017
Draft @ Beavertown Extravaganza'17.
