Bottle pour at Brouwer’s 2015, split with Andrew. Brown black pour, no head . Bourbon plum fruit aroma. First flavor is bourbon but not sure how, not being in a barrel. Sweet fruit notes. Awesome beer. andrewje41 (4768) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - DEC 28, 2017
12 oz bottle pour, split at Brouwers with Tcon, he celebrate the end of what was a crazy work year. Cheers to that! 2015 vintage bottle. A thinner dark brown pour. No head. This beer is good, but I can't get over the contradiction of how this is not barrel aged, yet it's so full of whiskey notes. Im officially stumped. Where is the whiskey coming from? Some questions are better left unanswered? Chocolate, tons of dark fruit, vanilla, and lots of bourbon. A bit doughy. A bit dry at first. Tastes strong, but not quite as strong as advertised. Interesting beer here to say the least. Memorable experience with this one phaleslu (11072) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 11, 2017
12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy cocoa brown with no head. Notes of bourbon, oak, brown sugar, caramel, cocoa, vanilla, dried dark fruit, and mild roast. Light-medium bodied, with no carbonation and a sweet, boozy mouthfeel. Sure, it’s still and that’s different but this is still really good. jtclockwork (17938) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 24, 2017

2015. Mahogany color with very little of a head. Big rich malty chocolate nose. Very complex flavors of chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and a bit of smoke. Really nice stout.

Bottle. Big thanks to douglas88. Huge barrel nose, overlaid onto chocolate, something like maple syrup, and heavy dark fruit. Black, slick, no head. Rich dark fruit flavors, wood, bourbon, cherries, and light chocolate. Heavy body, a little viscous coming out of the bottle, little carbonation. This one has big bourbon notes at the outset, but the aroma is smooth and not overpowering. Complex and subtle. The first several sips are astoundingly good. Yet it impresses a bit less after it warms up. Still, this is a top notch brew from one of the best brewers in the world. KyotoLefty (11020) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 13, 2017
Bottle thanks to Douglass. Black with lace. Huge nose of oak, vanilla, berries, citrus, a bit of soy but not too much. Complex and lovely. Soft, silky, awesome body: full but still light even in the summer heat. Treacle and vanilla and chocolate and bourbon. Awesome. jake65 (4034) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - MAY 14, 2017
Bottle at the 10th Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. Near black pour without any real head. Strong aroma is boozy with plenty of heat. Bourbon barrel, smoke, pit fruit, and heavy roast. Taste delivers the heat, body is a little on the thin side. Strong roast, ash, pit fruit, and woody bourbon barrel notes abound. 2015 vintage holding up just fine. Thanks Jeremy for sharing this. 19 Sept 2016, bottle. black. nose is sweet, molasses, some bourbon notes. med body and mildly fizzy. rich, tobacco, hints of tannic wood but sweet nonetheless. i would hope for a bit more. it is a bit watery. the bourbon oak influence is mild. the beer isn’t as bold as i would expect. still, it is rather nice. From tap at Borefts ’15. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma has licorice, roast, some tar, sweetness, sugar and caramel. Taste is very sweet with vanilla, sugar, some roast, chocolate and a medium bitter finish. Over medium body, soft carbo. Nice.
