2nd Brewery 07-08 Beer Road Trip with Bikesandbeer, 12/31/07 @ The Brewery with Alan Sprints. Alan was nice enough to give Kevin, Kevin’s Girlfriend Jessi a private tour and tasting on New Year’s Eve 07. Eve2 Bottle from Alan, Alan said this bottle was about 13 years old and damn it was aged nicely. Pours completely dark brown with thin tan ring. Nose is molasses sweet and sugary. Nose was sweet sugary viscous, really pretty damn nice and extremely special I’m so happy I could have some of this, the age really helped it achieve its greatness. Seems weird so many people here disagree with me. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - MAR 10, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma is fruity malty raisins fidges dark fruits. Flavor is fullbodied peppery fruity raisiny malty slightly roasted velvety smooth and a bit bitter. Very well kept, excellent. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 23, 2002
Wow!! Deep black with virtually no carbonation. The smell is deep roastiness with some alcohol. The flavor is overwhelmingly of burnt bitterness, textured with a healthy alcohol warmth. An excellent beer -- sadly, one that I’ll probably never get the opportunity to taste again. Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - FEB 2, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2008 Bottled 1995 and given to CSA (RIP) at the brewery on 10-8-07 - thanks for sharing my friend, we will never forget you. Pours unclear dark brown with close to no head. Strong aroma of raison, dark fruits, dark chocolate, a bit of alcohol and plenty of cocoa. Delicious. Aroma is cocoa and raisin with a nice sweet candied note. Heavy and slick, rather fat mouthfeel. Alcohol biding end. I don’t find much sign of the 13 years, truly delicious. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - MAR 30, 2015
WOW. Can’t believe I never got around to rating this. Thanks again to Skyhand. Bottled in 1995. Drank around 2007ish. An absolutely brilliant perfection once again from Alan. The man really can do no wrong. Big and fairly boozey but it only compliments the raisin, toffee, candy, and bits of awesome burnt cocoa. SO GOOD.

Nice dark pour with no real head. Flavor is aweome. Sean9689 mentioned that this was the best bottle he had ever tried, and it was really good. Sweet, tobacco, port, leather, hints of dark fruit. Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 18, 2002
Just like Adam, this is a great beer. No carbonation. Dark amber color on the verge of brown. Big on sweetness and alcohol, with less smoke character than Adam. The sample I had was 8 years old, it was amazing. CapFlu (5126) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 20, 2006
(Bottle) Sampled at the post-GCBF party hosted by Oakes, "Big Beer Sampling". Fig juice, bourbon. High ABV detected. Bandaids, christmas pudding. Thin, deep, pure, alcoholic. Hardly flavourful - pure alcohol. Fig concentrate. Bitter finish with traces of molasses... 50belair (3617) - Florida, USA - MAR 18, 2012
Bottle shared by Ryan at the Philly tasting. Roasty caramel nose. Clear dark brown pour with no head. Lots of caramel, dark fruits, and a hint of sherry. Medium in body with nice balance. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - APR 5, 2013
Thanks to Richard for the share. Paired with Hair of the Dog Dave.
The beer appears virtually still and is dark brown in color. The aroma brings molasses, a touch of soy sauce, though certainly not off putting. Additional notes of leather, maple. The flavor brings more spice than the aroma indicated. A bit of pepper with moderate booze. Void of carbonation and really smooth in the palate. A once in a lifetime experience and certainly an enjoyable experience pairing this with Dave.
