neongolden (1825) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 10, 2017
(On tap @ Omnipollos Hatt, Stockholm, Oct 8/17) Pours a slightly hazy brownish-gold/amber with a tiny white ring of head. Nose is loaded with oak and vanilla, sweetish light caramel, dried pale pit fruit and golden raisins, slightly grainy malt, resinous hops with a bit of citrus, leather. Flavour is big and aggressive, big punch of pale caramel, dried pale fruit, vanilla and oak again, bitter tannic wood and resinous hops, a bit citric, solidly alcoholic, initial sweetness is dried down a lot with the booze and high bitterness, dry oak. Aftertaste is heavily bitter and dry. Medium-full bodied, low carbonation. Bold compared to the base Fred, some of the fruit nuances are buried under substantial oak though.

MrTipple (6446) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 3, 2017
Heavy sweet caramel and bread malts, sweet citrus fruits. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Sweet molasses, barrel flavours, sweet caramel, wood, bourbon, more sweet citrus fruits, tropical fruits, soft carbonation. Beautiful Barley Wine, rich and complex. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, Canada Water.

Świetny barley wine. Pite tylko z tapa. Aromat przypomina musującą multiwitaminkę, a smak i wygląd bez komentarza 👌

Zlotta (3817) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - SEP 25, 2017
Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Clear, golden amber with a white head. Sweetish, malty and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, honey, sultanas and oak. Very sweet, malty and a little fruity taste of caramel, honey, sultanas, oak and vanilla, followed by a long, moderately bitter, noticeably boozy and slightly woody finish. Full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

fkoolen (1336) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 23, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2017 Taster @ Borefts bierfestival, Bodegraven. Murky golden, clear, no head. Big cask character, vanilla, bourbon, peach, apricot, apple, fig, medium bitter, quite alcoholic, dry. Afterward lingers nicely. Low carbonation, big body, soft mouthfeel

4.1
jerohen (2352) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - SEP 23, 2017
On draft @BBF17, tasted side-by-side with regular Fred and Cherry Fred. Amber colored, small head. Fruity nose, vanilla, wood, malts, alcohol. Massive wood, vanilla, and alcohol in flavor. Good, and better than the base beer, but too alcoholic to drink more than a glass of.
