RBSG 2006 - Grand Tasting. Thanks to kp for making sure I got some of this. Pure amber hue and filmy white head. Fine aromas of cognac and champagne with strawberry esters. Flavor brings some fresh split oak and tons of Fredful complexity. Pleasant, sweet alcohol in the finish. Still seems young and needs more cellar time, but quite nice already. This is a highable cellarable gem in my view.
09-09-17 // taster, draft. At Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, London. Brwonish beer. Sweet malts, alcohol booziness, mild bitterness. orbit (338) - Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 17, 2017
Perhaps even better than Adam, this is a very intense and deepfelt beer with a beautiful finish, lots of nice flavours, not too peaty but nicely balanced overall taste. BRW (3073) - Barcelona, SPAIN - OCT 21, 2017
On tap. Amber colour. Malt and wood aroma. Sweet, malt, wood, caramel taste. MEdium to full body. neongolden (2005) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 10, 2017
(On tap @ Omnipollos Hatt, Stockholm, Oct 8/17) Pours a slightly hazy brownish-gold/amber with a tiny white ring of head. Nose is loaded with oak and vanilla, sweetish light caramel, dried pale pit fruit and golden raisins, slightly grainy malt, resinous hops with a bit of citrus, leather. Flavour is big and aggressive, big punch of pale caramel, dried pale fruit, vanilla and oak again, bitter tannic wood and resinous hops, a bit citric, solidly alcoholic, initial sweetness is dried down a lot with the booze and high bitterness, dry oak. Aftertaste is heavily bitter and dry. Medium-full bodied, low carbonation. Bold compared to the base Fred, some of the fruit nuances are buried under substantial oak though. MrTipple (6991) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 3, 2017
Heavy sweet caramel and bread malts, sweet citrus fruits. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Sweet molasses, barrel flavours, sweet caramel, wood, bourbon, more sweet citrus fruits, tropical fruits, soft carbonation. Beautiful Barley Wine, rich and complex. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, Canada Water.

Świetny barley wine. Pite tylko z tapa. Aromat przypomina musującą multiwitaminkę, a smak i wygląd bez komentarza 👌 PotjeBier (3838) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 26, 2017

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Clear, golden amber with a white head. Sweetish, malty and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, honey, sultanas and oak. Very sweet, malty and a little fruity taste of caramel, honey, sultanas, oak and vanilla, followed by a long, moderately bitter, noticeably boozy and slightly woody finish. Full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice! PietS (373) - Bergen op Zoom, NETHERLANDS - SEP 24, 2017
Sweet alcoholic, a bit like sherry, some spices, sweet, honey, alcoholic bitter in the finish. Heavy, but very nice!
