On tap at the brewery. The smoked malt version seems to be retired. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium beige head. The aroma is fruity hops, tea. The flavor is big Earl Grey, sweet malts, biscuit. Oranges. Very good. Super smooth. pdx76 (651) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 4, 2014

DRAFT glass to HOTD brew pub. Had to be cool because more driving to do. Reddish / brown color with thin head. Sweet taste...some raisins; some caramel...very distinctive taste for such a mild beer. Wish I lived here so I could try more.

Reddish brown with off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts (but faint), biscuit. Taste is malty, bread, and some malt sweetness. Pretty easy drinking for HotD. Enjoyed it! troopie (2339) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - JUL 16, 2013
Draught. Possibly too cold which accounts for the faint but pleasant malty aroma. Flavour is roasty and sweet malt with a bit of dried fruit. A fruit (plum ) note in the finish. Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 18, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2013 Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a dark brown color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast and hops. Light body with a subtle fruity yeast character and notes of grassy hops and wood. The finish is mildly bitter with a candi and fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall. sherm1016 (1274) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 18, 2013
Draft at the brewpub. Pours a reddish brown color with a thin white head and some lacing. Aroma is light, bready, malty. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bready, very little bitterness, and definitely no smokiness, caramel, with a light malty finish. Very nice at 3.5%. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 8, 2011
Tap @ Hair of the Dog... Poured very similar to LIttle Dog Adam a reddish amber/brown with an off-white head. Smooth and easy drinking with a soft palate and modest carbonation. Very malt forward with touch of bread-like sweetness and earthy, yet mellow, hop balance.
