On tap at the tasting room. Surprisingly dark for the second runnings. Looks like Adam. Smell is strong smoke. You can really see how the barrels and time eliminate the smoky character of regular Matt as this is extremely smoky. Strong, earthy peat reminds of Scotch. Campfire and wood. Taste is very light bodied, very sessionable. The combination of intense smoke/drinkability is very different and new. I would really like to drink a large amount of this.
"2nd run of Adam. Yo get the feeling that this would do Bette on its own as opposed to part of a flight with all bigger beers, but thatís when we had it. Pleasantly lightly roasted, leather, caramel, light earthy hops. Felt a bit thin, but works as a table beer. Tap @ Hair of the Dog... Poured a light, amber/brown with a thin head. This is peaty all the way through, some campfire tones with a biscuit and cereal barley malt balance. Nice smokey leathery nose, hints of cereal grains, light fruity notes, and more moderate salty smoke. Pours hazy dark amber, nice head and lace. Flavors of salty smoke, apple, cereal grain, toast. Light but so flavorful. Great beer.

Draft at hotd. Pours a darker bright amber with plenty of off white head that stays and leaves some lacing. Up front, plenty of smokey peat, hints of raisin, apple, plenty of grainy malt, with some leather and tobacco. UPDATED: SEP 26, 2012 draft. unfiltered pale burgundy with a fine-bubbled tan head. doughy bread crust and smoky brandy and apples with an exceptionally delicate and soft malt body and intense dryness. prickly, buzzing hop acid along with peppery phenols released by densely frothy layers of carbonation atop a remarkably light and dry malt base. fuck yes.
