At Borefts 2015. Aroma of smooth vanilla and peach, awesome. Rich taste of thick creamy vanilla, peach, raisin and lots of vanila ripe fruit in the finish. Truly amazing. 77ships (9827) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 27, 2015
Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. Bizarrely different from the base beer. So much thinner, lighter with very heavy whiskey. It is even a somewhat lighter colour. Deep hazy amber with no head. Nose is warming alcohol akin to a good whiskey, biscuit, peach, very big whiskey, almost like peaches soaked in good whiskey. Taste is warming alcohol, big whiskey with flowers, peaches, caramel, warming, some vanilla, warming, lingering spirit, peaches. Body is very oily, thicker whiskey, flat. Interesting, very heavy whiskey but in a good way, very interesting & nice beer. Excess in a good way. MaartenRF10 (1950) - Wageningen, NETHERLANDS - SEP 26, 2015
Tap at bbf 15. Great Barley wine with fruity nose and taste. Quiet some white wine. Batavi (388) - Waalwijk, NETHERLANDS - OCT 24, 2015
UPDATED: OCT 25, 2015 Geproefd tijdens Borefts 2015. Ook deze Barley Wine van Hair of the Dog is weer erg goed.---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone troopie (2341) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - JUL 16, 2013
Another gorgeous beer from Hair of the Dog. Fuzzy brown, thin head. Peach and malt aroma. Very full bodied with oak, malt, peach notes. Warming malt finish. No alcohol burn

A delicious unique beer. Haven’t tasted anything quite like this before. Pours a nice dark amber, no head though. Smells great like bourbon and peaches. Taste starts with some bourbon, and then the peach comes in. The two work perfectly together, coming in waves and blending nicely. Also some marzipan and coconut in the finish. Ir tastes very much like a white port. Damn good! Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone GothGargoyle (2587) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 26, 2015

Murky amber color, dull hue, compact head. The aroma provides loads of bourbon. Fairly sweet, with a very good malt base, a mellow fruity touch, strong bourbon character and pleasant alcohol warmth. The base beer is the winning element here, the bourbon and peach are a fun experiment.
First rate, cool. Tap at the brewery. Pours a shade darker and oranger than regular Fred. Flat looking, not much or no head. Peach pulp settled at the bottom. Aroma at first is straight bourbon. Nice but pretty much indistinguishable from Bourbon Fred. I think I get some fruitiness but might be placebo. As this warms the fruity peach aspects deepen and peaches are definitely there. Flavor is soft, fruity, low carbonation and smooth. Peach and bourbon both there. The fruitiness might cover up some complexities but this is super drinkable and about as sessionable as it gets for 10%+ bourbon barrel stuff.
