On tap for the 20th birthday party. Think its funny that I had this but forgot to have the regular version - o well. Lots of cherry oak, some cough syrup boozy vanilla notes, bourbon, mild carbonation and full body, sweet but a bit of tartness to make it more enjoyable, sorta like a bourbon cherry hot toddy. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Murky brown, barely any head. Cherries, bourbon, vanilla, agave nectar. Nice mouthfeel, very oily and thick. Good stuff. Fun times at the HOTD 20th anniversary party. XaenDovet (1282) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 10, 2013
Tap taster at brewery. Deep opaque brown. Smells of skittles and citrus. Taste is bitter citrus and massive candied malt. Dry finish. Travlr (25269) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 10, 2013
Draft at the source for the 20th anniversary party, courtesy of Douglas88, thanks! Deep maroon brown color. Aroma of boozy cherry, vanilla. Taste is sweet vanilla, cherry, summer fruit. Nice. evergreen0199 (3420) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 17, 2013
On tap at Hair of the Dog brewpub, Portland, Oregon, USA. A murky brown coloured pour with virtually no head. Sweet, boozy, whiskey aroma. Tastes sweet, cherry, boozy and rather moreish, very nice.

This was delicious. It had a red and brown-ish hue. Smelled of bourbon, but only light cherry notes were present. Not much of the Blue Dot aroma left, in terms of rye. Taste was bourbon, and a nice cherry presence that provided only a touch of tartness. I wish this had a thicker texture, but it was still decent enough to carry everything through. I was really, really, digging the amalgam of bourbon and cherry. There wasn’t any hop profile or rye flavors to speak of, but still a damn fine beer. I had this on-tap at the brewery. On tap at Hair of the Dog.
A: Murky brown color with no head. Some lacing.
Bourbon, cherry, caramel, vanilla. Some pepper and spice.
Sweet with a moderate hoppiness. Some spice and smoke and cherry fruit.
Decent medium mouthfeel with plenty of alcohol. Very sticky.
This is a very interesting, and very nice experiment. Would b glad to have this as part of the regular rotation. douglas88 (9425) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 16, 2013
On tap. Pours a deep murky brown color with a small white head. A huge sweet woody cherry nose. Big bourbon. The flavor is huge bourbon, wood and heat, cherry more malty sugar sweetness. Damn good. Massive. Heat and barrel. ryanfolty (2579) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - AUG 15, 2013
August 15, 2013 - on tap at the brewery. Muddy brown pour with no head. Aroma was bourbon, cherry and some spice. Taste was bourbon and cherry upfront and then finished with a nice spicy bourbon. Very smooth and medium bodied. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 14, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 17, 2013 Tap @ Hair of the Dog... Poured mildly reddish, mostly opaque brown with no head. Soft mouthfeel, subtle carbonation. Along the lines of Cherry Adam without as much sweetness and a thinner body. Big maraschino-like cherry notes, candied black cherry flavor, and ripped cherry skins with some malted sweetness. Lots of whiskey flavors too without being too boozy. With a faint trace of Blue Dot containing its signature malt profile coming in during the finish.
