From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Haizhu Ale". Bright yellow gold color. Big fluffy white head. Sweet malty nose. Malt flavor is fruity, yet bland. adasko (2233) - Poznan, POLAND - OCT 18, 2015
Typical mass produced bright lager with nice malty aroma, absolutely no taste. Erzengel (9467) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - MAY 22, 2015
Can in Macau, 4.1%. Fresh grainy beginning. Smooth, not too deep but round. Crisp on a drinkable body, fresh, no real bitterness but full bodied. Not too bad. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - JAN 13, 2014
Wow! This smells like pouring 90 weight straight out of the can after drinking the 10.5P, wish in a fucked up way I kinda like. Reminds me of the oil field and Vietnam. Oooh. Its a richer golden color with a non-lasting head and tastes like sweat pretty much. The over carbonatiin tries to cover this up but fails and the finish is like waxed paper. 330 ml pull-tap can at abv 4.1% bought at Wui Lung Food Wholesale in Shek Wu Hui, Sheung Shui.
Light golden yellow colour; Razor thin head and residual white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Near zero lacing with notable slight carbonation; Slightly pungent smell of malt, with light urine, light bread, faint lemon and light straw; Mid to light sweet taste of light malt, with light grains, initial shades of wet cardboard, faint syrup, very light lemon and grass; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is watery but moderately malty macro, adjuncted sweet is minimal, some light bread and bitterness in there, wet cardboard gone with further sips, quite clean and easy. Okay… Hoppiness is lemon hint and smelly straw nose, low citrus and grass taste, and echo of bitterness for empty finish; Wet after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: Like Yanjing Style Beer, this is another grocery store-exclusive Chinese macro which surpasses the likes of Tsingtao, Yanjing, Buds, etc. with better maltyness, lesser adjuncts, off-taste free, and easily enjoyable. With just US$0.40 apiece, it has quality at a bargain. Will buy again!
Medium white head. Clear yellow body with carbonation. Rice and wine grape aroma with apple notes. Dry-sweetish wine grape and flour taste with floral notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish floral herbal aftertaste with fruity notes. Nice, drinkable, clean. (0.5l can from a supermarket in Macau.) dwyerpg (6410) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - FEB 1, 2009
This has no aroma. Looks very thin. Flavor is simple. A bit grainy, not funky, perhaps a tad bit rice-y. Okay. presidentchaos (21) - Worthing, ENGLAND - NOV 25, 2007
Hai Zhu (Kirin) drank in Borneo Malaysia. After 3 days in the jungle this tasted like nectar, but in reality it was just a ’wet’. Pale colour, good aroma and a flowery taste I thought. jbrus (4988) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - FEB 10, 2007
Canned. Skunky aroma of bad grains and hops. Pale yellow color, tiny white head that disappears quickly and completely, few lace. Sweet for a lager, skunky hops well present, hints of apple and cardboard. It reminded me of an old damp cellar. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 29, 2006
Canned (thanks omhper). yellow colour, small white head, which disappears quickly. Aroma is maize, slight malts. Flavour is surprisingly sweetish with some malts (?) that reminds of Eastern European lagers (and strong lagers). Not even so bad. Dry hayish finish and aftertaste.
