Aroma: pear, wine-like aroma, cola
Palate: Amazingly smooth--outstanding.
Flavor: pear, cola, and roasted flavor
Comment: Viscous yet elegant mouth feel; the body completely disguises the alcohol without being heavy. Probably due to the aging. Juancho (239) - Georgia, USA - MAR 23, 2009
ON Tap @ Popeye’s in Ryogoku. An extreme barley wine. Brown, thick, opaque a very thin brownish head. Very malty, but with vinous touches... maybe like some port or shery had made it’s way to the batch. Slightly hot from the alcohol. Very interesting stuff... Draft at Barkushu Club Popeye on March 31st, 2005. Dark copper color with no head. Strong aroma of caramel, alcool and hint of hops. Medium to full body, the flavors were leaning towards the caramel, toffee and a little bit of roasted. Alcool and bitterness were also present but not overpowering the other flavors. It was a very powerfull barley wine brewed with complexity! I wonder how old it was but it had definitely aged for a while. Hummm... encore, encore!!! adriano (5) - Roma, ITALY - OCT 1, 2013 does not count
Drinked at Bakushu Popeye in Tokyo, maybe the best Barley Wine... Ever!
