2007 bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours a deep ruby colour with a thin bubbly head and low carbonation. The nose is caramel, toffee, rice pudding, spice, clove, wood, caramelised banana and coffee liqueur. The taste is molasses, brown sugar, treacle, wood, caramel, coffee, leather, tobacco, dark cherry and dried plum, with some serious alcohol warmth in the finish. Great depth of flavour and well balanced. Nice work. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 31, 2011
2007 vintage at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. Brown. Slightly yeasty sweet aroma. Very sweet liqueur chocolate taste. Dryish finish. Not a lot of variety here, but very delicious. Leighton (21074) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 31, 2011

12 ounce bottle bought online from goodbeer.jp. 2007 vintage. Rating number 3100. I drank the new Super Vintage last night, so a nice comparison. Pours a dark red/brown color with a small white head that goes down to a very small bubble. The aroma is earthy rich berries and toffee, some smoke almost. The flavor is rich and tasty; no hints of heat really, some toffee, brown sugar, berries, dry earthiness, mustiness. Quite nice. A bit more of a body than the 11 but not quite as robust or hot. Interesting. As I said with the 11, quite a sipper and a bit like HOTD Matt. anders37 (26137) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAR 1, 2011

, sampled Oct 2009. Clayish strawberry aroma
Dark brown nice layer
Complex flavor: light treacle on fruit salad, maracino cherries, wood, cognac, chocolate. Comes together rather well
Medium body. Brandy and berries retronasal
A sweet yet balanced barleywine, with a roasty twist. This 1999 vintage tastes 6months old, not 11 years! Its odd tasting cocoa in a barleywine but it works!
