The Excellent Junmai Sake. It truly is excellent. Nice and strong, but still very pleasant and drinkable.

Carton split at Chris & Ruths pre GBBF Shin Dig, cheers for all the shares, 05/08/17. Clear liquid with no head. Nose is sweet, floral, rice paper, straw. Taste comprises much the same, paper, water melon, light smoke. Medium body, light booze in a sweet finish. Nothing I'd ever return to.

August 2017 - Huge 1.5 litre carton share at Chriso's Pre-GBBF Shindig. Thanks! As 'Hakutsuru Tokusen Junmai Sake', 15%. 22.5 units of alcohol in this bad boy. Pours totally clear with no head. Aroma is parafin, booze, estery pear notes. Body is smooth and fairly oily. Taste is more parafin, booze, some creamy notes, some estery pear and apple sweets, more booze. I don't love it. Carton at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours clear with a few bubbles on the cap. The aroma is sweet, grainy, tapioca, boost, creamy, passion fruit and dried mango. The taste is dry, grainy, booze upfront, oily, creamy, rather fruity, passion fruit, apricot and raw booze on the finish. Medium body and oily mouth - feel. Maybe too savoury and a touch harsh. Nice aspects to it anyhow.

Paper Bag shared at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2017 - Part 1. A colourless Sake, no head. Aroma of sweet yellow fruits, mellow, rice. Taste of sweet mellow, rice, grains, a bit boozy but easy to drink.

northropfrye (3732) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - MAY 27, 2017
Clear body, no yellow. Sweet banana and vanilla aroma. Pleasant. Taste is smooth, sweet, a hint of acidity and booze, but overall not bad. A touch of heat at the back of the throat. An okay sake.

Well, I think this is the one I had. Clear. Koji nose. Light, sweet, ricey taste. Sweet, smooth and very approachable. Bit of alcohol in the finish.

TaktikMTL (8014) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 18, 2016
Servi chaud.
