Deep amber color. Almost zero head. Sweat taste, great cloudiness to go with that bold slide down your throat. Pretty good holiday beer.
Bottle. Orange amber, golden head. Bready toffee aroma and flavour, a touch of orange peel, a bit boozy. DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - MAR 16, 2015
[3/3/15] Draught at Hales Ales Brewery & Pub in Seattle. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, caramel and toffee. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, toffee and a drier finish. Medium-bodied. stevoj (5036) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 22, 2015
I love the way this all comes together, some savory winter spices blending perfectly with the peaty character of the Scotch ale. Nice fluffy head on a cloudy dark copper body. Earthy, malty aroma. Taste brings more winter spice, which lingers afterward. All around a great winter warmer. Rossta (16) - Washington, USA - FEB 2, 2015
First sip was funky. Decided to let it open up and the flavors started to coincide with each other quite nicely. mcberko (17820) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 28, 2015
On tap at Stateside, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out caramel, brown sugar, and bready malt. Flavour is less sweet than expected, with notes of caramel, bready malt, and a fairly prominent spiciness in there that cuts down the sweetness. Balanced and drinkable, yet nothing overly provocative. Decent.

Bottle (12oz $1.80): Golden brown with 1-2 finger white head. This was different than other Wee Heavys I have had. Its sweet and bitter. medium plus body.. syrupy. beastiefan2k (3981) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - NOV 22, 2014
12oz bottle poured into Gordon’s thistle glass. Surprisingly there is some particles, floaties in this beer despite the clear bottom of the bottle. A dark amber-brown color. A glow o the beer with low clarity. A medium sized head that leaves a surface covering lacing. Aroma is slightly grassy with a slightly syrupy malt character. Its not hoppy, its not too sweet (yet there is a faint barley syrup candy aspect). In the flavor there is also a bit of toffee and slightly fruity. But this is pretty damn good for a six pack Scotch Ale. Medium body with an aftertaste of light fruit-syrup. fiulijn (20492) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 12, 2014
Draught at Hales Ales Brewery and Pubmaxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - FEB 28, 2014
Cloudy dark amber color with creamy head. Light aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, quite round, with moderate residual sweetness; good Scottish malt flavor, lightly smokey, lean, lightly fruity; correct bitterness.
Bottle. Pours a hazy brown color with a smallish off-white head on it. Nose has a little bit of toast and nuts in there, with just a hint of some spices in there. Taste is also pretty spicy, with a hint of some sweetness up front. Meh. zoucrew102 (1869) - - JAN 19, 2014
Bottle from the Wine and Beer Haus, Seaside, OR. Caramel malt aroma with some hoppiness. Pours a deep caramel color with a thin beige head and very little lacing. Caramel malt flavor though a little watery. Finishes dry with some hops as well as some metallic flavors which is unfavorable. Ok scotch ale but the finish isn't good.
