COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weve been making fun of wheat beers for a long time. Low hanging fruit, I guess, but we brewed one. Our packaging team was riding the topic pretty hard. They wanted to see an american wheat brewed with australian hops. And since they work their fingers to the nub and are a pretty rad group of chaps, we took the bait and slammed this brew in the tanks.

A ridable 5.5% abv will host some wheatey nuts & juicy Motueka hop bolts. The deliverer of this truth: Akari Shogun, He who harnesses light will usher this summer force into your life.

Akari Shogun American Wheat, coming to you soon, friends

Super cloudy yellow/orange draft pour. Peach and fruity aroma. Smells amazing. Dry and easy drinking. Fruity and a little bitter. Good for a wheat!

A badass name and a badass can. Thats all Half Acre needed to get my attention. Still, I can never turn down the opportunity to have a great Wheat Ale. And this IS a great one. Cloudy yellow pour. Cracker-like malt. Lemony and grassy hop notes - dank. Theres a pretty big hop presence but very little bitterness. Rich, viscous feel. Dry finish with a lingering hint of sour funk. If only this were in my area...

Can. Pale gold, cloudy. Lemony wheat nose, oranges, herbs. Fully, flakey, wheat biscuit flavor with nice oranges. Good.

Pour is your typical looking wheat beer, cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is nice with a definite wheat malt but there is a nice Australian juicy hop in the background. Flavor is more of a pale ale or IPA with a nice fruity hop with just a little bitterness. Pretty good. At least they just didnt make another boring wheat ale.

Can into a solo cup showing moderate to well filtered honey orange with a half a finger of quickly dissipating white foam. The nose shows light notes of juicy orange, guava, passionfruit, and The palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Flavors of light banana with subtle citric orange and tangerine. Very light bitterness on finish. Moderate citric spiciness throughout and on the finish.

16 ounce can canned on June 24, 2016. So about 60 days old. Clear yellow pour nothing outstanding. Taste is another thing altogether a delicious fruity peachy Flavor with a nice amount of hops to complement the sweeter wheat ale. Very drinkable for the summer months - light and flavorful - another highly recommended half acre beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Pours hazy golden, medium white head, good lacing. Aroma is wheat, perfume, pine. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Some perfumy floral hops notes and a wheat ale base. Not fresh perhaps? It just arrived here. Light plus body. Meh

Tap at Lucky Well. Hint of haze with gold hue, thin white top. The bite is there, green hop flavor. Mild overall but decent.
