bomber into a Lost Abbey glas...First beer of the day at our Sunday tasting at Seans. Perfect weather outside, a perfect beer to start the day with, easy to drink above average abv session. Big time thrist quencer, crisp drinker...A light gold with light carbonation, decent enough looking...ARoma is light lemon, citrus, light hops, not at all a typical belgian saison, not funk or floral hoppiness. Easy to drink and tasty light lemon on the front, crisp hop finish.
A well done saison better out of the bottle than on tap tap, well worth getting on a nice summer day. phaleslu (10555) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 11, 2010
22 oz. bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. Pours a hazy yellow-gold color with an inch-thick, fizzy bright white head. Aroma of straw, pale malts, farmhouse funk, pepper, dust, pineapple, and light citrus. Flavor of pale malts, straw, earth, pepper, dust, soda water, lemon citrus, wheat, and farmhouse funk. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a frothy, funky mouthfeel. Dry finish. Really nice saison, and hit the spot after a long night. thetomG (246) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 30, 2010
On draft @ the Goose Island Belgian Fest
Cloudy straw yellow color with some nice lacing left around the glass. Aroma is a nice lemony citrus scent. Flavor is a bit more tart than most saisons with the lemon shining through nicely. Crisp and refreshing - this would be a great beer to drink on a hot day.
I liked it and would definitely drink more of it, but I have had others in the style that I enjoy a bit more. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 7, 2010
Bomber. Clearer yellow golden pour with a fizzy frothy white head. Great saison aroma, really just lovely, nice seemingly sour quality. Flavor is also very nice, very sessionable, light hints of vanilla, noble hops, meaty funky saison yeast, just a really nice beer and easily one of the better American attempts I’ve had. Bottle either 2010 or 2011 and served in a Half Acre snifter: pours a clean golden hue with a fizzy head and okay lace. This is what happens when you dig around your "cellar" and find a Saison that you had no idea you had and had no intention of aging. Good news is that it is still quite drinkable even if the lemon has likely faded as has any pronounced hop profile. Nice whisper-y pale grain and flowery character along with a dash of yeast spices. No noticeable aging effects like cardboard nor band-aid. Actually it is more than just drinkable, it is pretty damn tasty.

22 oz bomber from the brewery. Pale, hazy straw yellow pour with medium white head. Aroma of light dust and hay. Soft lemon and a bit of herbal chamomile. Flavor has a lemon twinge over earth and hay, some pale malt. Pretty nice and dry. Soft carbonation. Pretty nice, very drinkable and refreshing. msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - SEP 14, 2010
Bomber from HA. Pours hazy yellowish gold with white head. Aromas lemon, light spices, some yeast, a little clove. Flavors of clove, light banana, light lemon, some spice, little yeast mixed in. Extremely drinkable beer. Almost hefe like in mouthfeel. Nice beer. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 22, 2010
Bottle picked up at Vas Foremost, I believe. Pours a slightly hazed and attractive yellowy gold. Fluffy white head. Nose is a bit odd. The chamomile is distracting and leads away from the yeasty notes. Some lemon comes through in the nose, though moreso in the taste. There is a certain breadiness in the taste as well. Chamomile is far less distracting in the taste. The nose is odd though. Still, pretty decent. FunkyBrewster (1518) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2010
Bomber. Pours an almost clear golden with a big frothy white head. Aroma of light citric fruit, spicy and a nicely rounded pale malt character. Flavor of sharp yet delicate citrus, lemon zest and a soft spice note. Finishes slightly bitter and crisp with the grain and sweet note rounding out the aftertaste. Medium body and a sharper carbonation. Good saison, very refreshing for the hot days. lebshiff21 (174) - Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2010
Bottle from a trade. Reminded me of Belgium. Nice yeast profile. Pours hazy yellow w/ pillowy head. Nice hop character, complements the malts. Overall a nice saison.
