DC tasting. Bright orange-tan. Frothy head. Soapy odd brett aroma, covers everything else up. Good, but test tube sour overload, lacks subtlety. Mild and balanced at the same time, smooth. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - NOV 13, 2011
Sampled on tap at FoBAB 2011. Dark murky golden pour with a white head. Aroma of yogurt, citrus, lemon, dust. Some currents, some apparent brett. Flavor is leathery, slick, with some dusty current notes. Some lemon, lacto notes. A sour twinge towards the end. Light, spritzy mouthfeel. Nice beer, NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 14, 2011
Draft at FoBAB 9. Pours a lazy gold with plenty of haze. Nose is pretty interesting. Throughs some bretty funk and yogurt, soft lemongrass notes and the fruitiness of the longpepper seems accentuated by the fruitiness of the currants. I really like the integration of the nose here. On tasting, it is lightly bitter, soft lactic tartness and a drying Brett character. The barrel played nicely here and has rounded out the beer, taking away the initial brashness of the spicing. Clean and soft. A really enjoyable beer. KickInChalice (860) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 6, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 7/5/2011. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a tulip. Bottle 149/177.
Barrel Aged Rainbow Rye pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a good inch of foam resting on top.
The peppercorns are still noticeable in the aroma, and some candy sweet light biscuity malt, oak, vanilla, and pinot grapes are present as well.
The flavor is sweet up front. Some light malt, then a flourish of spice and yeast. Vanilla and oak lead in for the fairly soft pinot flavor, but the sour flavor grows and climaxes at the end of the sip.
This has a medium body for the style. It starts out a little bit on the full and creamy side, turns peppery and spicy, and finishes on the dry side.
There is a great level of complexity here, and the sweet and sour notes hit a sweet spot in my flavor palate. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 11, 2011
750 ml shared by Beejay. 1 of 24 from the release. Thanks, bud! Pours a deep murky golden hazed pour, some orange fiery glow makes it into the fold. A frothy moderate sized bright white head, dies to a thick film, laces well. Aromas are crispy bready malts and black pepper, some soap, touches of funky brett. Light sourness, touches of currents, touches of berries, some suntan lotion, rye malts. Not as wild as anticipated. Initial is some light sourness, wild brett, bready malts. Some peppercorns, with touches of wild yeast, bready malts, touches of lactic sourness are very gentle. More brett, but still smooth on the palate. Touches of suntan lotion, yogurty lactic really takes off on the palate, touches of earthy nuts and peppercorns. Really, a lot of yogurt. Finish moves into some light sour yogurt, very lactic (but not all that acidic), touches of dryness and yogurt, wet brett, bread, and touches of peppercorns. Interesting, aroma seems very similar to the base, but the beer is indeed transformed.

FoBAB 2011. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Aroma of brett, pepper. Nice tart flavor, currants. Well done. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 22, 2011
Half acre rainbow rye aged with Brett, lacto, and currants. 750ml bottle thanks to beej for sharing... Pours a golden, lightly hazy, orange brown and topped with a fluffy, creamy soapy white head...
Aroma is coconuts, creaminess, with a citrusy overall feel, somewhat of a nutty feel. Yogurt actually . Interesting... Flavors follow suit with more of a slightly lemon and yogurt lactose feel. A faint tart sour note upfront. Light and fluffy mouthfeel. Tasty with a lactic sourness with a nutty bent.

Bottle shared by TheAlum in the GTMW ticket line - Pours hazy light amber with a thin white head. Currant and berry taffy on the nose, sweet, with a light malt base. Nice tartness in the taste, with lots of dry yeast and light berry fruit, and some peppery rye notes. Not bad. cbfobes (2888) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JUN 22, 2012
Bottle shared by TheAlum in the GTWM ticket line, thanks Adam! Pours a murky amber with a white head that diminishes quickly and leaves nice lacing in the glass, the aroma has a decent amount of funk with some spices and pepper, the flavor has a good amount of bread notes mixed in with some black pepper and a little bit of funk in the finish, a little different but I dig it. deyholla (12582) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 18, 2011
Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured a near clear deep gold with a white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had a bit of funk with some light fruits, specifically currants coming through with a bit of tartness and rye underlying. Flavor was a bit thin with a light tart currants and rye that made for a slightly odd combination.
