COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big, but not huge, this American Chocolate Rye Stout fires off a lot of coffee and chocolate notes. Balances well, but rides high on hop character at 60 IBU’s while the Rye finishes it dry.

A specialty brew. Grab it when you see it. 7% ABV.

Shared bomber poured to snifters, showing a black/brown hue, with a presentable layer of off white/light tan head foam, and waves & spots of lacing. The nose was roasted & dry, with notes of coffee & baker’s chocolate, a little smoke, and a mildly disconcerting, but fleeting vegetal hint. Medium bodied, with average carbonation, the taste was similar, and included good potency to the roasted & earthy hop bitterness, and dry finish. Nothing off the charts, but decent.

This version strikes me as more back of tongue bitter. Which I don't care for here. Before and after that I like the base and nice dark khaki head. But the first beer from new brewery let's me down a little bit:( but you will have that! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from the brewery. Strong chocolate and cocoa on the nose. Black with a brown head which sticks around nicely. Really great flavor, nice hoppy stout. Would love to drink this again. No real alcohol flavoring.

From notes-On tap, pours a typical dark color with a thin tan head. Aroma of burnt malts with a hint of chocolate. Taste followed the nose really good. Had to have 2 of these on the tour, a good Rye Stout.

Bomber. I was hesitant to pick this one up, usually rye is a red flag for me. But boy am I glad I did. Huge chocolate note. Unsweetened baker cocoa. Coffee roast. There is a touch of rye in there but it’s really in the background. More flavor and thickness than you expect from a 7%er.

Bottle is probably 6-7 months old. Pours murky brown/black with tall tan head. Aroma is stale coffee, rose petal, some chocolate. Taste is sweet cocoa nib with a bit of bitter coffee and floral notes as well. Got even more complex as it warmed. Enjoyable.

Bottle... Pours dark brown with a small, creamy, khaki head. The malty, vinous aroma boasts dark chocolate and red wine. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor is deeply roasted and bitter - 85% cacao chocolate stands out. Lengthy, scorched, burnt-cocoa finish. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

This is a very special brew. Starts out like a sweet stout but the hops take a bigger profile after a while. Perfect look, black with a tan head. Very good indeed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
