COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big, but not huge, this American Chocolate Rye Stout fires off a lot of coffee and chocolate notes. Balances well, but rides high on hop character at 60 IBU’s while the Rye finishes it dry.

A specialty brew. Grab it when you see it. 7% ABV.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2011 Great chocolate, roast malt characteristics with an unbelievably nice smoky finish. This beer is just good stuff. The head lasts a while and the lacing on my glass was fantastic. I will definitely pursue more of this beer next year.

Slight hop aroma and flavor. Tastes kind of like burned carmel. No head, black in color. No burn from alcohol. Smooth texture.

(22oz bottle courtesy of jcnd9803. Thanks Jon!). Pours dark brown/rootbeer color with thin tan head. Aroma of big chocolate, coffee, caramel and a bit of pepper. Taste is sweet with some peppery notes and some roasty bitterness. Full bodied with oily/sticky texture. Roasty finish. Really nice!

Black with frothy tan head. Nose of bittersweet baker’s chocolate, milk, rye, spice. Good carbonation with somewhat mellow spiciness, nice seet milk chocolate flavor, with slight coffee roastiness, and some confectioners sugar. Dry, bitter, lasting finish. Very good.

This is a very special brew. Starts out like a sweet stout but the hops take a bigger profile after a while. Perfect look, black with a tan head. Very good indeed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a jet black color and has a tremendous chocolate aroma. Tastes like dark chocolate and burnt coffee. There is a nice rye bitterness that finishes this beer nicely. This is awesome!
