On tap at the brewpub. Rating from notes. Pale yellow pour with a small, white head. Aroma of grain, mild bread, grassy hops. Flavor is crisp and clean with grassy and fruity hops, mild grain and bready malts. Light bodied, nice carbonation. Finishes crisp. A little hoppier than your typical kolsch. Draft at HA. Pours a pale yellow with a sticky white head. Nose is subtly fruity, grainy and clean. Low hops. On tasting, clean and crisp but a bit fruitier than expected. Nice enough beer. dinkle50 (1583) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 28, 2013
Clear golden pour with a single finger head. Lots of grain in the aroma and classic Kolsch notes. Long lingering bitterness. Good medium mouth. Hints of flowers are in there too. drdisque (899) - Illinois, USA - JUL 18, 2013
On tap at Bangers & Lace. Dark golden clear pour. Moderate lacing. Slightly roasty yet crisp and clean finish. Just enough hops to notice. Nice to try a half acre beer that actually tastes like beer - not a pine tree or a grapefruit. andyhwcinc (1886) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 4, 2013
Purchased at Half Acre in mini growler form, enjoyed at a friends new place in Chicago, IL. I was hesitant to get this but am happy that I did for the warm summer day. Appearance is clear copper gold with a modest white head. Aroma is light with malt and hay, light sweetness. Taste is great, goes down crisp with a great finish, really well done for the traditional style.

draft at half acre. pours hazed gold with white head. aroma has fruity yeast notes, and a bit spicy and floral from the hops. flavors are very fresh and clean, fruity yeast character, mildly spicy. very clean kolsch/blonde that lacks a little character but otherwise solid. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 23, 2013
5oz sample at the source... Pours a mostly transparent darker than straw lager hue and topped with a creamy white head... Herbal lightly bitter grassy base. Touch fruity with a lager yeast component as expected... Flavors are more of the same. Tea-like, grassy, lightly bitter, touch of sweetness but the bitterness resurfaces. Shy of medium bodied with adequate carbonation. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 22, 2013
Tap @ Half Acre with TheAlum. Pours a clear golden appearance with a white head. Grassy, straw, herbal, lightly earthy aroma. A touch fruity, lemon, dry, straw, grassy flavor. Easy to drink. crossovert (14134) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 18, 2013
This was suprisingly traditional in taste. Mainly the yeast character. Also an ample hoppiness, and light mats. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 16, 2013
16 oz draft on tap at the Tap Room (Chicago, IL). Pours a firmly golden hue, big glow, summer sunset golden hue, touch of orange. Near transparent and a frothy whitish head atop dies to a filmy layer, laces ok. Aromas are a bit grainy, yeasty. Bread, some fruit and gentle citrus. Faint fruity tropical appeal. Initial is clean, more mellow body with a big grainy and cereal front end, touch of yeastiness. Gentle spice, some fruit elements in the middle show apple, pear, citrus. Some melon, more lemon with firm bitter citrusy feel, a bit tart. Backend is dry, grainy. Some spice. A good firm dryness prevails. Finish is dry, bitter, more lingering hop presence thanthe front end shows, finishing up nicely with lemon, lime, and florals. A bit of spice, grainy malts and bread. This grows on me, as it flows into the back and finish it gains some friends. Nice Kolsch presence shows fruit, flavor, and an American hop zing. The grainy middle and bready malt elements keep this grounded though. Solid offering here. Fun one.
