Growler pour from Half Acre. Pours a deep gold, slightly darker than Daisy Cutter with a great sticky offwhite head. Nose gushes big tropical citrus, woody notes and a bit of a cattiness. Noted green onion hints as well. Some earthy malt. On tasting, intensely hoppy and dry with a great citrusy quality and a crispness. Light sweetness to the malt as well that really rounds it out. Pretty fantastic pale ale that is right up there with daisy cutter... jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 24, 2011
@RBWG-growler-thanks to Dschiller–pours an off white head and hazy amber color. Aroma is pine/citrus, some light malt. Taste is pine/citrus hops, some light malt. Terminus (3738) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 14, 2011
can at RBWG-thanks for this! copper hue with a small soapy head. big floral nose-green onions, citrus, melons. very balances session pale here-sweet with enough bitter hops to dry it out in the finish. i could drink this all day long! I need to seek this out when i get to IL (homestate). Look for another re-rate! decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAY 24, 2011
Orange pour with watery head and lace. Resiny hops and caramel malt. Light caramel malt with a nice light resiny bitter. Medium bodied to watery but a very nice PA. 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 26, 2011
Growler. Seemed to be just a bit darker in color than daisy color, little more caramel looking. Great hop combination, super drinkable, lightly grainy, light biscuit sweetness, just very very refreshing, grassy and citusy.

Tried it a the day of the ales 2011 in chicago. It was the better of the two half acre offerings. I really enjoyed it and it made my top ten beers of the event. fata2683 (2202) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 10, 2011
enjoyed during 2011 RBWG pours dirty blond with a medium off white head. Aroma is big citrus hops and grassy malts. Flavor is the same the hops in this are very nice, not your average pale ale, bordering on IPA. chibuck (3521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2011
Growler thanks to Chris, drank from a Cigar City snifter... Pours a dark orange, hint of brown, clear. A light off white head rises about a finger, ok cap, no lacing... The aroma has a ton of citra and a hint of pine, light malt backbone... The taste is pretty good, but something that can get lost amount other beers, now wow factor. A lot of the citra hops are gone, what you get is more tropical fruits, some toffee and a light pint of finish. Doesn’t have the dry feel or taste I was expecting. Drinkable but just blah.
I must admit that I was very excited to get to the Hoppy Birthday so I just blew right through this. Good, not great, not in the league of HB or Daisy Cutter, however I’d drink it again on tap. Savvy1982 (1706) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 27, 2011
